Got on of these for £59 in go outdoors,in a discontinued bin. Makes loads of space really great space maker. Wouldnt be without on stays over 3 nights, very easy to put up attaching to main tent simply and securely and very light with good blinds, fitted groundsheet bucket style very good and with a carpet to match main tent it looks amazing inside

So worth the investment! Great value for money - especially as we purchased this s/hand from another UKcampsite member.

Wouldn't be without it & it protected the front door on a very wet & windy night. Fab sitting spot for early evening drinkies! Great space to sit & keep an eye on the grandchildren. Great for storage of cooker, chairs, wet clothes etc etc.

Would highly recommend this piece of kit!

I love this addition to our fantastic Monty. We're really pleased we got this rather than the awning. We still feel as if we're outside even though we're under cover. It secures to the main tent easily and securely. We have used it in high winds and it was no problem at all. In really wet weather we have still been able to cook 'outside' but keep dry. (I don't like cooking inside the tent at all). I fully recommend this extension - would buy it again. I found it for less than £99 online. Great value.

I have had the canopy, front extension and now awning for my Monty. I wasn't impressed with the canopy and found it fairly pointless except for calm still days. I used the extension for many years and loved it as most on here do however, if you have rough weather coming, take them down. I didn't and it died. If you are thinking about buying one and can afford to upgrade, buy the awning. The awning does everything the extension does but you can also close the front making it far more sturdy and usable. I've had both, the extension is good but the awning is well worth the extra expense.

I'd like to give 2 reviews for this, based on the 2 times I've used it.

First time, was on a lovely sunny weekend. It was a bit windy and we found it very hard to put the extension up. It did not provide as much room as I first thought, and there is a lot of guys and ropes around for 2 years olds to trip over. We used it for cooking in, but to be honest I thought so-what, not worth the money and too much effort to put up.

The second time we used it was on a cold day with the rain threatening, I'd watched a YouTube video on setup and it wasn't windy so actually it went up okay. Then the heavens opened and the deluge came. Luckily we were set up by then and quite happily managed to cook in the extension and sit out and watch the rain pour. The rest of the weekend was dull and changeable and the extension proved a god send. We used to use a cooking tent, but being in the extension is much better.

So in Summary I'd say the extension is invaluable in cold or rainy weather, especially as the monty's front door is so badly designed and leaks when you open it. It acts as a great wind break in windy weather too.

On a sunny day though, its all a bit pointless. We'll definitely be taking it on every trip now, but I might only put it up when the weather looks a bit iffy (which will probably be most of the time) definitely worth getting if you are not a fair weather camper though.

Used for the first time last weekend and found the extra space really useful - we used it for cooking and eating, as well as general storage. The weather was very sunny but strong winds all day, it sheltered us from both very well. It stood up to the wind well and only needed a few adjustments each day.

An excellent addition to the tent which we have used on many occasions. It has taken a battering by gale forced winds in the past and survived. It does lift with certain wind directions although this was rectified by a set of good quality storm pegs for both the canvas and ropes. It is an excellent space for cooking and wet boots and also a shelter from both the sun and wind if required.

An excellent addition to the Montana 6. Very easy to put up and attaches really well and securely to the tent. Gives a excellent sheltered area for cooking under and storage from wet weather. Definitely has the Outwell quality feel about it!

When camping in really strong winds (gale force) we did take it down, purely for precautionary reasons as we did not want to risk damaging it.

Bought the Montana 6 front extension for our Vermont L - fitted a treat and was an excellent addition to the tent - great cooking space when it was raining as well as providing good storage space for tables, chairs etc. Easy to put up and attach to the tent, very stable and withstood a wild night of wind and rain no bother. Definitely a good buy and would recommend.

Used this for the first time last week. Didn't want the awning as we don't need that much extra room. We bought it thinking of the wet weather we have enjoyed over the last few years but last week it was scorching! Shelters front door, gives somewhere to put boots and 'kitchen' and somewhere to eat under cover - all great in the rain but just as good in the sun. (And gives somewhere to hang the fairy lights!) Definitely recommended.
