6 Reviews of the Nebraska XXL
By: Michellendek Reason: I own(ed) one Made in: 2007 Rating:
Excellent spacious tent, fits my family of 5 in comfortably, very sturdy - it just saw us through hurricane Bertha without falter.
Disappointing that it is discontinued as getting ground sheets/extensions are not easy.
It took my husband and I 40 min to pitch and is easily erected,
Overall a perfect tent for a large family.

This is our 3rd tent, having a a 'cheapie' from a DIY store (don't even bother!) and a second hand frame tent (don't even bother). The outwell is fabulous, so much room you could have a party in there, it is cavernous. It is well made and as per the other reviews is virtually indestructible. My husband is 6' 2' and he has plenty of room to spare when he is standing. We are a family of 2 adults and 2 kids and a retriever and we have bags of room to spare. My only criticism is that it needs windows and we have discovered.
However now we have seen the new Outwells (with lots of lovely windows) we have decided we want to upgrade to one of those (the grass is always greener!) but this is testament to how much we like Outwells, we wouldn't consider any other make!

Great tent. We are a family with two teenage kids & a dog so a sewn in ground sheet is a must. Loads of room and bedrooms that you can stand up in, and have room to put cases at the side of the kingsize mattress. This is our 3rd tent and us and our friends were so impressed that three more of our family friends bought the same ones.
Only down size is some sites do not cater for 'large' family tents. But for comfort and we like it, this is a small sacrifice so.Get One.

We had a Nebraska xxl , or rather four yes 4 in just over season. Reasons for replacements were varied , leaks, holes in flyscreens, SIG not fully sewn in, one of the tabs holding a bedroom pod was just held on by a thread.

We are a family of five, so we chose the Nebraska XXL for it's floor space and height. We were not disappointed! Plenty of space for kids to play in on wet days. We use the porch to cook in and store muddy boots, shoes and wet coats - maybe one day we will go on a holiday and the sun will shine!
The tent is easy and straight forward to pitch. We managed to pitch it in 45 minutes and we think that is probably as quick a time it can be done in. (We were having a race against our friends pitching their tent so we were not going slow!) Usually it takes us just over an hour from getting tent out of car to putting all the gear inside.
The only downside is that, due to it's large size, some campsites charge a double pitch fee - we remedy this by going to sites that are happy to accommodate our tent!
For a week or more holiday this tent is perfect but for a two night stop it's probably not the best due to the pitching/strike time.
All in all we would highly recommend this tent.

Hi and welcome to my personal review of the Outwell Nebraska XXL.
We are a tribe of 5,mum,dad,15yr old daughter,10yr old son & three yr old son,no pets.Dad writing review.
We Sold our 18ft Abbey Stafford caravan due to winter storage fees going through the roof (greedy farmer)and bought the Nebraska as we were already looking at buying a tent for more space as I kept splitting my head open on the roof of the van and boy did we achieve that one.
The Nebraska XXL far exceeded our expectations with more than enough headroom in the main area (I am 6` 2' and can stand upright without coming close),the three bedrooms are fantastic and can easily accommodate two double airbeds in each which makes this a true 10/12 berth tent.
First time we pitched was at Wyreside (or it could be Wyrelake) Fisheries nr Garstang,Lancaster in June 2008(good mostly level site with pub/club and plenty of fishing)and we pitched the tent in just over an hour first time out and found it a doddle once the main poles were erected (2 PERSON JOB),weather was fine when we pitched but turned into a typhoon over the weekend.
Lesser tents, windbreaks etc were blown well into the next field and off site but the Nebraska held firm and totally watertight with the strong winds and torrential rain blowing for at least 6hrs.I am glad I used my steel rock pegs and not the pegs supplied although they seem quite adequate I like to stick with my own choice of pegs from previous experience and with our tent being only one of five left standing it shows that experience counts.
Just out of interest 2 of the other tents left standing were Outwell Montana 6`s so the Outwell name means storm proof to me.
Well there you have it,if you want the ultimate tent I would not hesitate in recommending the Nebraska XXL,D2moo
