Weve owned a Nevada M as a weekend tent for the last 3 years and been really pleased with it so when an XL came along at a really good price it would have been rude not to buy it well that was my excuse.
Now on first glance the XL just looks like an extended Nevada M but Outwell have changed the bedroom layout from a 3 + 2 split (5 berth)on the M to a 3 + 3 split (6 berth)on the XL meaning both bedrooms are now equal width so for comfort they will only really sleep four people as it would be a very tight squeeze to get six people in. For those using airbeds a double will fit in either bedroom with a bit of room to spare, two single airbed however will fill either bedroom pod. There is a central divider which can be unziped to make one big bedroom and as with all Outwell universal bedrooms one can be unzipped and rolled up creating even more living space.
The living space in the XL is massive there is plenty of room for tables, chairs and other bits and pieces. Seven windows means there is plenty light coming in and all are fitted with curtains which can either be open, half up or fully closed. A large front door, which can be used as a canopy, and two side doors (one with a rain hood) give lots of access points and as all three have flymesh they can be left open in hot weather giving lots of ventilation without creepy crawlies, flying or otherwise) getting in. There is also a central stabilisation pole that runs inside the tent between the main front pole and the bedroom pole, don't forget to remove it before taking the tent down, as well as the usual storage pockets, electric cable entry point, lamp hanger etc etc etc.
The XL comes packed in one bag and for a tent this size is relatively light due mainly to the fibreglass poles. Pitching is relatively easy as all poles are colour coded, 3 red poles for the living area and one black pole for the bedroom. I personally would have a look at the 'Cross Camping' video for pitching a Nevada M on Youtube as this is an easier method than Outwell use meaning it can be pitched by one person. Outwell tent pegs have always had their critics, while the colour coding is a good idea, they are only really suitable for soft ground so I personally would invest in some Delta Ground anchors for the main guylines and some heavy duty rock/hard ground pegs for harder ground.
As with all Outwell tents there are a number of accessories available, the footprint is well worth having as it gives a guide to positioning the tent prior to pitching as well as keeping the bottom of the sewn in ground sheet clean. The carpet is also a nice addition as it not only gives a warm feel underfoot but also protects the groundsheet from being marked by chairs tables etc. An open front extension (don't know why a previous poster had problems fitting this as its designed for both the Nevada M and XL models, as well as a closed front awning.
All in all a nice easy pitch tent with a big living area but only really suitable for four people rather than six

We decided on this tent as wanted plenty of living space. Certainly made the right choice, so much room! It is classed as a 6 berth, but would say 4 comfortably. The 2 bedroom pods can accommodate a double air bed each. We have had no leaks, although haven't used in strong winds yet. The large windows are fantastic, really feel like you're sitting outside, and like the toggle up curtains. The only reason I marked as a 9, is because I tripped over the lip of the sig in the front doorway. Other than that, I would say fantastic tent, and had lots of good comments off others on site!

Chose this tent after looking at dozens , and are really happy with it . New to camping and very easy to pitch (pull up to brew up 45 mins). Good living area with two good bedrooms at rear although not really a 6 berth tent with two adults and two teenagers. Large windows let in ample light and three doors give plenty of options. Bought with footprint and carpet for easy pitching and comfort.

Just returned from our first camping trip in our new Nevada XL. We had the typical British bank holiday weather so put it to the full rain and wind test and it survived! We did have a little bit of dampness around the door seams however it was constant rain for 2 days so its what I would expect.
Starting from pitching the tent, this was remarkably easy, no arguments and didn’t really need to read the instructions. Took us about 20 mins to pitch this was using a footprint and carpet, there were 4 adults however you can discount me as im pregnant and was really just giving out the orders. The only thing we didn’t really like was the plastic pegs, they were huge and don’t go into hard ground every easily, we have said we will buy some big metal pegs to use on hard ground.
The tent can get quite warm when the sun is out but having 3 doors will help with the airflow. Theres plenty of space (there was only myself and husband) so we managed to fit our queen size airbed in along with cupboard and storage crates (we opened the bedroom into one big one) the pockets are another great storage idea and keeps everywhere nice and tidy.
The living area is huge! We had a 2 seater blowup sofa, 2 camping chairs, kitchen unit and still had heaps of space. We even tested out the storm door, this is a bit tricky when pitching the tent as it looks like the poles are too long however with a little force they do fit nice and tightly. The website states the storm door can be left open in the rain and the water doesn’t come in, we didn’t actually try this however whilst coming in and out of this door odd spots of rain do come in, so I wouldn’t risk leaving it open! The tent is nice and light having big windows almost everywhere with the ability to close curtains for privacy.
I would defiantly recommend this tent for anyone who is after plenty of room either for family or a couple, it ticks all the boxes. I cant wait to get away in it again! I am waiting for the front or side exention to be reduced so I can add this. Just means we will need a bigger car!

Friends and family laughed at my husband and I when we said we were buying a tent. We have had the privilege of being able to go on lots of luxurious worldwide holidays including cruises and safaris, but decided after speaking to people who went camping we would also look into buying one.
After visiting Go Outdoors and working our way around the variety of tents of different qualities, price and size we opted for the Nevada XL. There are only two of us, but we wanted a tent with lots of room so that we would feel claustrophobic or hemmed in.
The Nevada XL is light and airy with lots of room. We take out the dividing wall/sheet between the bedrooms so that out large king-size air bed can be accommodated. It still leaves enough room for storing bags/cases once the bed is inflated and pushed to one end of the space. We also bought a couple of storage cupboards which also serve as storage of crockery etc and a work surface or card playing table.
As we were new to camping we watched the video on YouTube of how to erect the tent (quite a few times) but were also a little worried when we saw the one with a leaking roof!
We bought the tent in the Go Outdoors sale for £279 early in August, along with the carpet and footprint – and everything else we needed to camp (bed, electric hook-up, cupboards, lighting etc etc) so it was quite a costly affair when you totted it all up. Then, after some pretty horrible weather, we booked a cruise and friends were making a variety of ‘offers’ on what they thought would be our redundant (never used) camping equipment.
How wrong could they be! The weekend following our return from cruise, we booked to camp 2 nights at a site in North Yorkshire and about a couple of hours drive from where we live. It was a damp weekend and not particularly warm, but we were convinced that if we didn’t do it then, we never would. The heater was most welcome and because the tent is so spacious, wasn’t overpowering. Then, after dinner, playing cards and having a glass of wine, the heavens literally opened. The noise was deafening and I was really worried that the whole thing would leak let alone the troublesome seam that others have referred to. It didn’t, we were bone dry and comfortably survived our first weekend enjoying the great outdoors!
After finishing work early on Friday 30th September and seeing that the weather forecast was good, we packed up and set off for our 2nd camping trip. This time we had the benefit of fantastic weather and used the ‘heater’ on it’s cold setting to keep the interior of the tent cool. Unfortunately two of the tent poles fractured and we had to do a makeshift repair with duct tape, but they held superbly well for the duration of the weekend, so we’ll get the replaced as soon as we can.
We’re now planning our main holiday for next year – no cruising for us, it’s a two week camping tour to Italy and back – with three nights at our favourite villa in between. As people who enjoy short breaks away, we think that the Nevada XL will get more than its fair share of weekends away – it’s so easy to just pack up the car and get away.

Just purchased this as a 'weekend' tent as we already have the Maryland XL and wanted a smaller tent that still slept 4 comfortably, with loads of living space and versatile bedrooms but that was half the weight and I have to say we are absolutely delighted!
This tent is fantastic, so easy to put up, I managed it on my own in 30 minutes. We also got the Nevada M front extension which we found fits really well if you extend(with more strapping) the straps which attach to the pole section over the top of the front of the Nevada XL. Definitely intend to get the side extension too though.
We got ours from ebay from a seller that deals in Go Outdoors returns and only paid £66.00 for the tent and £36.00 for the extension. Both were sold as used but in immaculate unused condition, apparently there were 'unspecified minor faults' but apart from the porch canopy poles.Which we all know are too long!. We haven't been able to find anything else wrong with either the tent or the extension, have also done the does it leak test, and no they don't!
Would recommend the XL to anyone, a great tent for a fantastic price if you shop around! Still intend to go away in the Maryland though but will stick the teenagers in the Nevada XL!

This is a fantastic tent easy to pitch took us 40mins first pitch (i not pitched a tent for years and wife has never pitched a tent)so very pleased. It has a huge living area with big windows with toggle curtains which can be fully closed, 1/2 open or fully open. I have marked it down one star because I have had to cut the pole down for the rain safe door, it is not a bad job to do and now the rain doesn't collect on the roof. I am really pleased with this tent and have spent a week camping in it 3 adults & 2 kids with plenty of room. I have bought the side extension for it but not used yet but feel this will prove to be a great purchase as it gives you somewhere to cook if the weather turns. All in all I would recommend this tent to anybody.

This is the second time myself and my partner have been camping in this tent and I must say I am over the moon! It's easy to pitch (took just 40mins for our first attempt) The full length windows are amazing as you really feel like your outside (draw back is the sun beams through leaving the tent really hot!) you can have the curtains on the windows half down or fully down which is good if you want the light but still want a little privacy. The 3 huge doors cool it down a lot and there is a fly sheet on a separate zip on each door so you can have the breeze without the flies/wasps coming in! The bedrooms are a good size and you can take one down for extra room, not that you'll need it as this tent is rather big. Some people have mentioned the rain safe door, not being able to get the pole in and ended up ripping their tent, but I haven't had any problem with this. However I do recommend that you put this pole in while your tent is still loose (not pulled tight and pegged in) and there should be no problems. The tent comes with plastic pegs but I would seriously advise anyone to buy metal pegs and take them along as spares as a the last campsite I stayed at had ground made of rock and the plastic pegs would not have stood a chance. They wouldnt hammer in further than 2inches, but on normal ground they are fine. There are plenty of pockets both inside and outside the bedroom to house all those little things and there is ample space to stand up in and walk around. Over all this tent is a great buy, if you find it on offer anywhere I would definitely recommend it. I bought mine from GoOuutdoors for £270.00 in August but im sure you could find it cheaper when the sales start.

First outing with this new tent. I love the design, the space, the windows, the idea or the tent. But like another reviewer, mine leaked too. Not as dramatic as the comedy video leak shown on youtube from another reviewer, but it was a steady drip from the central velcro holder of the roof stiffening bar. The double tape wasn't done correctly, so the hanging velcro was a bit of a mess, and in came the water, even during a minor shower. Plus we couldn't stop the doorway canopy collecting water; and we also split a pole somehow (not during pitching, and wasn't windy); and the pegs are practically single use-disposable if the ground is anything other then perfect. I do really like the design of this tent though, just wish it was built a bit better. Took it back for repair/refund. Might go for an alternative instead.

I just got one of these and took it on its first outing. I managed to break one of the poles putting it up but thankfully there was a spare, so after much fiddling around rethreading the elastic it was ok. The tent withstood a lot of wind and heavy rain, it didnt leak but felt like it was going to take off at times. I had a front extension which is a nightmare to put on as its designed for the M model so doesn't fit properly, but managed to tie it on and it was OK. The tent is huge and we sat 10 people inside comfortably. Some of the plastic pegs are flimsy and break or bend. All in all a good tent and am happy with it . But if I had extra money to spend I would get a Vermont XL instead for the sturdiness and the zipped in porch area.

Manufacturer's Description
The manufacturer has advised that this model has been discontinued.
The good looking panorama front, with its huge windows backed by toggle-up curtains, adds even more space, light and great views. The looks are further lifted by the use of the new Treetop Green colourway of our own Outtex 4000® tent fabric. The tent features an invaluable fully-enclosed Rain-safe side door, which allows entry into the tent without letting in water. The Nevada can be pitched either outer tent first or all in one. This is further simplified by the addition of the Outwell Easy Pegging System. The unique Outwell Wind Stabilizer System provides enhanced stability in up to Force 9 gales. The tent is packed with Outwell DNA features like pre-attached luminous guylines. The inners have the new chic logo-embossed fronts and Night Sky Ceiling that aids sleep by darkening the bedroom.
