Tent is fantastic. Stays up in all weathers and has plenty of space. Easy to pitch with just 4 ploes. Could be improved by having a flap on the door that opens from the top for when it's raining. We also have the matching wind break which looks great together. With just two and a dog it's great to sleep in the large side and use the small side as a wardrobe

We're a family of five, bought it when only a family of 4 and we love this tent. I can't compare it to others as it's the first family tent we've owned. It's done us 6 great years of camping (11 holidays in total) so far and seems to be still going strong. We bought the side extension for it which is great as our kitchen area so we don't need gazebos or extra units which could incur further site costs. It also leaves the space between the bedrooms clear to use on wet days or mornings/evenings that are a little two chilly for sitting outside.
We manage to pitch and take the tent down very quickly even on windy days, and it packs away small which is important for space when you have three children.
All in all a great tent that I would recommend, it does the five of us just fine and has accommodated our children through the ages of 6 weeks old to 10 years.

Absolutely cracking tent, we have used it the past few years with no problems whatsoever, last year we even had the pleasure of hurricane Bertha on our first night and not a problem, we did think we were going to end up about ten miles east but no it didn't budge. Super watertight, comfortable, roomy, lots of windows so lots of light but can be obviously closed, just an all round great tent. 5 star xxxxx

Used the XL for the last 4 years and find it hard to beat.Does everything we want from a tent.Spacious, warm & a doddle to erect. When the time eventually comes to renew,I think I will be checking out the newest model of this tent. This year,in Cornwall we had storms with wind gusts up to 70mph along with driving rain.We actually thought the tent was leaking but when we checked,we hadn't closed the air vent and the rain was coming in through it.Once it was closed, the problem was solved. As for the gale force wind, the tent shook a fair bit but didn't budge, and thankfully it didn't rip.The total amount of damage sustained was = Nothing.

Just bought one of the 2013 nevada lp evolution range. Contacted Outwell about the possible extensions for the front or side but there are none. Disappointing / shame . Does anyone know it they have tried alternative tent extensions and do they work. Good tent over all. It you remove the front bed room it doubles as the kitchen . Great for two people to share a large tent .

An update from my post 4 years ago.
This is about the 2009 Nevada L.
We've now spent a total of maybe 25 or 30 nights in our '09 Nevada L and it's starting to show its weaknesses:
It appears to become unbearably hot very quickly in the morning sun in a way that my other (smaller) tents never have. We've only camped in England and Ireland - I would hate to think how it might be anywhere warmer.
It can be tricky to pitch with any combination of breeze/ children/ tiredness and needs the undivided attention of at least two adults for twenty minutes.
We bought the porch last year unseen and I'm rather disappointed at the fit. It's obviously primarily designed for the XL and 'will do' for the L but it's impossible to achieve a proper fit over the main canopy and use the clips that appear to be intended to clip it to the poles of the main tent.
The first time we used this extension one of the poles broke and one of the pegging loops came unstitched. It was (eventually) repaired under a mixture of warranty and goodwill, but the other pole has now broken after having gradually become misshapen over a few days.
We've had problems with the integral porch pole too as documented elsewhere here resulting in over-tensioning of the main entrance zip, which is now damaged.
Space-wise and in terms of keeping us warm and dry it's been great, but I do feel that it has inherent design flaws which have made its lifespan unsatisfactorily short. It does appear that this model is no longer on sale, but I'd advise against buying one of these second-hand and to bear these points in mind when looking at the current model.

I love this tent! Pitching time is about 20 mins and when up is really spacious for just me and my husband. It is supposedly a six berth tent but I think that would be a tight squeeze. We have taken the partition down between the 2 bedrooms at one end to make a comfortable space for ourselves. The bedroom at the other end is used as a storage space which helps to keep the living area tidy.
We have experienced no problems with doorways/porch pole tightness as reported in previous reviews. The only gripe I have is in the quality of the tent pegs. I find the colour coding as advertised a gimmick, and the pegs supplied are too willing to bend, to the point of being mangled, in hard ground. We have replaced them with some heavy duty metal pegs instead. It is because of the pegs I have given the 9 out of ten rating. I would definitely recommend this tent.

My second tent and we loved it had it now for five year and its not let us down.
I can pitch it on my own and only takes 30min.
Got a nice big main living space for two of us but had to get the side canopy for more space for cooking stuff would be very cramped with 6.
You can turn the main bed room in to one big room witch is wot we do gives us bags of room on each side of our air bed.
Can't really think of any bad points.

Very happy with the Nevada L - might have given it a 10 but we had a Montana before (we downsized) and that is some tent to compete with! One problem, however, is the fragile poles. Another reviewer had the same problem - we had a split pole the first time we used it, (in 2010 and didn’t use it last year) and have been trying to find a replacement, but without much success so far. Can anyone tell me the size diameter of the durawrap poles (I’ve been told 11.5mm but I think they are bigger) as there are several on the market and is it possible to source single poles or do I have to buy a packet (maybe about £30.00). Alternatively I was looking on the Outwell website and they had a video which seemed to imply that the durawrap poles could be “repaired” but didn’t say how! Unlike the other reviewer we paid full price so am a bit peeved. This doesn’t detract from a very good tent, but is a bit annoying. I’d be grateful if anyone has got any ideas?

This is our first tent and so we have nothing to compare it to.
However, the tent is so easy to pitch that even a beginner like myself can have it up in no time. The space inside is intelligently laid out and there is plenty of living room for me, my wife and our two primary school aged children.
I agree with previous comments about the raincover pole putting the door zip under tension, but plan to have a play with this next time we use the tent to see if it can be rectified.
All in all, I would recommend the Nevada L and would certainly encourage first timers who are in any doubt as it really is simple to pitch.
