5 Reviews of the Nevada P (S)

An update to our earlier review as we have now used this tent twice,on a sunny week (yes REALLY!)last July and having just returned from a long weekend with mixed weather.Outwells quality control seems to have been on the ball with this one everything is present and correct, all seams taped ETC the footprint and carpet (proper fluffy CARPET Mr Outwell!)both also spot-on.The bedpod takes our posadas double widthways with room just for the person on the inside (ie me)to get around to the door without rolling over 'tother half.
In the front area we get two Outwell folding chairs,a cupboard which we put the oven on and coolbox and it is snug and cosy for the two of us but 3 would be impossible. We had no leaks during heavy overnight rain and it is quick to put up/pack down our normal outfit is a NORFY this is our weekender now 2010 obsolete I am afraid but if you do come across one it is worth considering as a solo/couples weekender or possibly longer if the weather was good but longer in the rain would be a trial due to the sloping front door and lack of room to cook.

I bought this tent as a weekend tent, as my Coleman is far too big for just me and the dogs. The tent is so easy to erect and was up in about 20mins.
The tent was put through its paces as the following day it started to rain, well more like a monsoon actually, thunder, lightening, the tent held up really really well no leaks, I was able to sit in the tent and have a little drink without having to worry. Because the tent has three huge windows, you never feel claustrophobic or hemmed in in any way. But you can put blinds up it you want privacy. The main door also has a mesh door to keep the flies out which is another good point
The bedroom is big enough for two people, although the bed has to go in widthways, which is not really a problem. The door to the pod has mesh at the top and also a ventilating window, again I found this to be really good
I also bought the groundsheet and the carpet for this tent, the groundsheet fitted perfectly. The carpet gave a bit of extra luxury to an already luxurious tent.
All in all I found this a very strong and well put together tent and absolutely ideal for single campers, or couples. I would definitely recommend this tent.
I believe this is the old model, but the new model which I think is the Carolina S is not much different.

We wanted to purchase a tent for shorter breaks and weekends,we have a Norfolk lake as our main tent and its just too much hassle to pitch for less than 4/5 nights.
We had certain cast-iron criteria: MUST be stand-up height and MUST have (at least) a sewn-in groundsheet, preferably Outwell (despite having to send back TWO posadas doubles before we got a fault-free one!)
This model is not in Outwells line-up this year and a local outlet had them on offer with carpet and footprint for £153 and still had one in their showroom that we had a good look at prior to purchase so we took the plunge and bought it.
Being by now VERY nervous of Ouwells quality control we put it up in the garden as soon as we got home! the footprint covers the whole of the SIG area so is a worthwhile buy, the 3 duratec poles are very long but have a properly colour coded section on each rather than a piece of tape and they come in a proper bag with a spare section the pegs supplied are Outwells blue nylon ones which should suffice for medium ground and nice weather however we have a custom caddy of delta nylon anchors and their stainless steel traditional ones which make all but the toughest stones quake with fear! and we shall be using these.
With the flysheet laid out the poles slide through the sleeves easily although I always get nervous flexing poles to get the other end in these weren't too bad,I did notice that the ring/pins are stitched onto the groundsheet at each side rather than having a strap running the whole width of the tent, this seems to be reinforced but care is needed in my opinion to avoid damage.
The bedpod comes ready-attached and can be removed if required but on this tent we intend to leave it in place for ease of use the carpet is a nice fit and comes with an integral roll pack. The bedpod was big enough for our Outwell double folding posadas (the third!)bed as others have pointed out this can only go widthways but we knew this prior to purchase, the ventilation seems sensible and the main door has a screen mesh and can double as a canopy although poles are not supplied.
We will update when used properly and have submitted this review early because this model is now a clearance line but thus far we like this tent a lot

I bought this tent about a month ago along with the additional ground sheet and carpet to go in the living area as we were looking for something a little bit bigger that also had a living area for the two of us when the weather turns bad.
We thoroughly tested it out last weekend on a trip up to Nottingham visiting family. We arrived at the NWSC campsite at about 10pm and surrounded by fog we set to work. With the ground sheet out we rolled out the tent and found the poles which are color coded to each section of the tent they need to pass through. Once the poles were in position we began to flex them into there final position allowing the tent to form its shape and with in 25 - 30 mins the tent was up and we were pegging it into position for the weekend. The tent has a sleeping area designed for three but really comfortably sleeps two with room for bags/rucksacks there is also a living area which comfortably fits two on chairs you could also use this as additional sleeping area for a short period. On the Saturday we woke to clear blue sunny skies but to be honest this was the calm before the storm. As we went into Saturday night the rain came in heavy and fast but with the ample living area we were able to comfortable sit inside the tent (having a drink or two) with out having to crawl into bed to early. The rain did not stop through out the night and carried on into Sunday. In the past we may have been feeling a little damp now but the Nevada S was still going strong (no leaks woohoo). The rain eventually slowed down allowing us to get out of the tent and start to pack it away.
This is a great tent and I would recommend it to all.

This is by far the tent which we are most happy with out of our little collection! with only 3 poles it is easy to pitch and goes up in minutes. There are plenty of vents to stop condensation and the whole of the front is one big window which is ideal in Britain's less than sunny climate so that even being stuck indoors is pleasant.
There are storage pockets, ehu zipper, lantern points, cable tabs for electric light cables, storage pocket for the inner door and fly mesh over the main door. Main door has eyelets for poles to use it as an awning.
It is pitched all in one with adjustable pegging points to help with uneven ground and has plenty of standing room in the bedroom pod and in the main living area. Can be used with the vango standard/large canopy to make extra room. We can happily camp for a week with our 3 small dogs in this tent and be comfortable. We love ours and would not be without it!
