3 Reviews of the Nevada XLP
By: Guineveres Reason: I own(ed) one Made in: 2010 Rating:
We haven't used our tent in the rain, just been lucky perhaps but we do check the forecast carefully first before venturing out. After reading the previous reviews I'm now rather worried about being in it if it does rain.
We have been very pleased with this tent overall. It has everything we were looking for and more besides. We wanted side and front openings and 2 separate bedrooms which this provides. There's plenty of ventilation and it's windows make it nice and light inside. We like the carpet.
Recently the other half actually managed to put the tent up alone which we hadn't thought possible but he managed to do it, quite a feat really considering the large size of it.
We felt secure when the wind blew somewhat one night and as it turned out our confidence was well placed.
The tent is pleasing both to use and to look at and we expect to have several more years use out of it.

I really like our Nevada XLP despite having some of the same concerns as the previous reviewer Mashbirtles. We too have a leak from the loop attaching the central cross bar to the roof but it is only a small leak and only from one of the three attachment points. However this has only happened once during quite severe rain and strong winds. At other times of rain it has not leaked. I agree that the porch does collect water when it rains which is irritating.
The tent is light and spacious. For our family of two adults and two older teenagers it feels roomy and comfortable. The windows make it feel very open and give good views. It has good ventilation. It is straightforward, quick and easy to pitch and to pack up. The poles and pegs are up to the task. We experienced severe weather in Mull and the tent withstood it very well.

I'd love to give a better review of this tent. The design is genius with loads of light, huge windows, great colour inside (not keen on blue tents which can be dark, or red that can make the light strange inside). Very good features, but let down by the build quality. Ours initially leaked really badly from the loop in the roof where the cross bar is attached. We had this repaired by the store (gooutdoors) who have us a generous discount hence we kept it. It just doesn't pitch well, the poles are very fragile (we're seasoned campers) and replacements are very expensive and it comes with comedy pegs that hardly last the first pitch in anything other than sand. The porch collects water in the rain and it just feels in general like it's asking too much from this type of design. Can't recommend it really.

Manufacturer's Description
The good looking panorama front, with its huge windows backed by toggle-up curtains, adds even more space, light and great views. The looks are further lifted by the use of the new Treetop Green colourway of our own Outtex 4000® tent fabric. The tent features an invaluable fully-enclosed Rain-safe side door, which allows entry into the tent without letting in water. The Nevada can be pitched either outer tent first or all in one. This is further simplified by the addition of the Outwell Easy Pegging System. The unique Outwell Wind Stabilizer System provides enhanced stability in up to Force 9 gales. The tent is packed with Outwell DNA features like pre-attached luminous guylines. The inners have the new chic logo-embossed fronts and Night Sky Ceiling that aids sleep by darkening the bedroom.
Recommendation: This is a practical, full-featured tent for the larger family wanting a space and easy-to-pitch characteristics.
