4 Reviews of the Palm Coast 6
By: Fergiespigeon Reason: I own(ed) one Made in: 2016 Rating:
We bought our tent towards the end of the season 2017 but didn't get chance to use it unfortunately so just had our first outing for a weekend 1st June 2018. We purchased as a bundle with the footprint and carpet and I think this was a good decision for that extra protection/comfort feel.
Tent went up ok but when pitching the weather turned for the worse and we were met with thunderstorms! 2 of us got it up in about 45mins which for our first time and given the conditions, I was pretty happy with.
(Colour-coded tent poles help to identify what goes where).
We had further rain that evening and the tent stood up to it fine, no real issues with gales during our trip so can't comment with regards to that but I'm sure it would be fine reading other reviews.
We opened up 2 of the bedrooms to make 1 large room (2 adults and 2 kids aged 8 & 5) and had 2 double airbeds in there that just fit. We kept the 3rd bedroom for storage and changing which worked fine for us. I think you would struggle to get 3 double airbeds across the 3 bedrooms.
There are storage pockets on the side of the bedrooms and also hanging ones in the living quarters = plenty of space to put bits and pieces.
Windows are good and let in plenty of light, ventilation is also good all round.
Living area is large enough and if you had the full complement of 6 people you could easily all sit inside with chairs.
A future purchase may be the extension for the front but for the time being we have enough space for what we need.
Overall very happy with all aspects of the tent/accessories and would recommend this tent.

We have used this tent on three camping trips now. On our trip in 2017, we faced severe gales and torrential rain. The tent withstood 10 nights of it.
We bought our tent as a bundle deal including the tent, footprint, carpet and extension. We wouldn't want to be without the extension for a long trip but it would be fine to just have the main tent for a weekend away. The front extension serves as our kitchen/diner. We have two young children so make the three bedrooms into one big bedroom but we like the fact that the kids will be able to have a bit of privacy when they get older. There are plenty of windows and ventilation options so the tent doesn't need to get too hot or feel too dark in the daytime. The storage compartments are really good. There are four in each bedroom and two hanging storage columns in the living area. The tent is easy to put up with two people. On our third go, we had it up in under 30 minutes. The other benefit is that the tent bag is nice and big so you don't need to struggle to get it all back in. Overall, I would highly recommend this tent but would say the extension is a must for long trips.

We just our Palm Coast 6 with footprint for the first time this year. Thought it was excellent. My 12 year old and I put it up, about 40 minutes. Plenty of room, but am going to get the front extension as soon as I can for a bit extra space for cooking etc. Made the bedrooms into one larger one, but will use one of the smaller parts as a loo next time (there's only two of us, so there'll still be plenty of space in the bedroom.) Love the fly screen and windows, and how sturdy it felt in quite windy weather.

We bought our Palm coast 6 in June 2015, we also purchased the front extension, carpet and footprint. We are a family of four plus the dog. We have camped for 12 nights across 4 trips this summer and sampled the best and worst of the British summer!
We had glorious sunshine followed by thunderstorms on our first outing of the summer (which was our first ever time camping and pitching the tent), we didn't get much sleep as we was worrying about the tent, we needn't have worried as the tent stood strong no leaks and the kids slept right through.
Since then the tent has proved its worth in Windermere and Bala where it was both wet and wild!
We have found the tent to be of an ample size for our young family (7year old & 3year old). The front extension is a must for us though for cooking and eating. The carpet is a nice touch and gives you an extra bit of comfort. The tent has plenty of storage pockets. The 3 bedrooms can be opened up into 1 large room. The windows are large and keep the tent nice and bright. There is plenty of ventilation flaps which can be closed to keep the tent warmer of an evening.
It takes two adults to put the tent up, we have got it down to about 45 mins now that is with the front extension as well.
Overall we are very happy with the tent and we are looking forward to next years trips.

Manufacturer's Description
A spacious and sturdy family tunnel tent that will comfortably sleep up to 6 people - EXCLUSIVE TO GO OUTDOORS!
With a large living area and three bedrooms, there is plenty of space in the Outwell Palm Coast 6 Family Tent for families and groups of friends.
It pitches quickly, letting you set it up flysheet first or all together, using colour-coded poles and pre-attached inners and guylines for easy assembly.
The separate bedrooms will comfortably sleep 5 people, but will easily take up to 6 without the need to use the living area as an extra bedroom.
A large front canopy over the main door offers some shelter from rain/sun, while an additional side door aids ventilation and gives you another entry/exit point.
The strong, resilient and reliable Duratec fibreglass poles flex enough to keep the tent stable in poor conditions, holding up well when the weather turns bad
