1 Reviews of the Phoenix 6
By: Rexer Reason: I own(ed) one Made in: 2016 Rating:
This is an excellent tent and for us the layout is perfect. We have owned many different Outwell tents including the Montana 6 but this tent is a great all rounder. The tent has a built in big sized front room that is ideal for cooking and taking shoes on and off as it has a bathtub groundsheet that allows for some ventilation. We found this was big enough to leave our old Outwell shelter, that we normally used for cooking outside, behind. The rest of the tent has a sewn in groundsheet and is very spacious and noticeably wide which we liked. The bedroom space is also huge though there are only 3 of us so plenty of storage room as well. The tent is well made and has some nice touches like electric cable entry points on both sides. The carpet is nice though nowhere near as thick as the old Outwell carpets but takes up a lot less space in the car. The tent has a nice big bag that fitted the tent well when packing up. The Phoenix is mostly fibreglass poles with one metal at the front but it was very stable and the pole bag was therefore light and compact. It was totally waterproof and the design of the front bathtub groundsheet was good with the bottom of the door acting as a seal to keep the rain getting in. It was very effective and made me confident it could withstand the elements. I'd highly recommend this tent especially as it was such good value at £550 with groundsheet and carpet. It's the most functional tent we've ever had in terms of getting in and out and cooking because of the excellent porch. It's nice and big inside but also cosy and it's well made. A great replacement for our Montana 6.
