I love this tent! having 3 boys the space which it provides is excellent,everyone has enough room to play, eat, sleep and cook all at the same time.

The windows make this one of the brightest tents on the market really feels like you have a conservatory, but thanks to the mesh panels on the front and rear doors plus the middle dividing door it makes it feel airy and not to hot on nice days.

There is two little negatives to this tent the first been that there is no electric cable opening in the back part of the tent so you have to make sure that whatever you put out there has a long enough cable to reach from the front section, next is that the only ceiling light attachments are located right above the doors where really would be better in the middle of the tent.

I would highly recommend this tent and cant wait to use it again.

After looking long and hard, we upgraded to this tent early last year as my daughter and I had 3 dogs. The room in this tent is amazing and liked the idea of the bedrooms, which can be unzipped into one large bedroom, being perpendicular to the lounge area, and then you have this vast panoramic room in the front from where we house our kitchen equipment. Particularly like the hanging rails; very useful for wet towels.

We had the misfortune to be camping last September when a severe weather warning was given out - 'batten down the hatches and expect structural damage'! Apart from putting in some extra pegs (the Outwell plastic pegs are useless!, the tent stayed as solid as a rock whereas other tents were collapsing and being whipped up. We've also camped several times this year in absolutely persistent torrential rain and hailstones etc and still this tent performs admirably.

Being two fairly slight females, we do find this tent quite heavy to pitch, trying to hold all the poles and put the pins in, moreso if it is windy, but it is worth the effort. (Sometimes a fellow camper will take pity on us!)

My own personal gripes with this tent having used it a number of times now: -

The design of the bucket groundsheet at the front entrance could be better as it is drafty.

Getting in/out of the tent when it is raining, due to the angle of the entrance, it just lets all the wet in. Just wish Outwell could come up with a small extension canopy for this tent.

Only one lamp holder situated above the front entrance, there should be one in the lounge area as well.

Despite the gripes, we absolutely love this tent for its space.

Oh wow this is by far the best tent we've had, just love it! There are 4 of us my husband myself and 2 kids aged 14 and 5 and there is plenty of room and light. Its a great all round tent that is incredibly sturdy and as yet we haven't even needed to use the guy ropes. The only thing I would say is you are unable to buy an awning for it which we would really like, something so the door can be open in the rain and we can take shoes off when its wet before going in. Going for 2 weeks in Cornwall in August and this will be just perfect for the long comfortable stay.

Our first trip away in this tent was an 8 night stay in Cambridgeshire. Pitching the tent was a bit iffy, I found it quite heavy and difficult to put the pins in the bottom of the poles, so we had problems with the poles coming apart when we were trying to stand the tent up. I had to support the tent while my husband ran around putting the pins into the bottom of all the poles. We would normally put pins in one pole, walk tent forward, pin another and so on, but trying to hold 3 large poles in one hand and pin another, with my small hands it was a non-starter. Maybe next time it will be a bit easier, but we may have to wrap some tape around the poles to make them a tighter fit. As others have said the plastic pegs supplied by Outwell are less than useless, we were pitching on reasonably soft grass and they still bent like a banana. Luckily we had plenty of metal pegs with us.

We had fabulous weather for the first 6 days, so the ventilation panels over all the windows were used to there full potential as was the front porch/room. Being able to roll up almost all of the front was a real bonus in good weather, yet still being able to cook in a sheltered space on the odd windy day.

This tent has loads of room, the 2 bedrooms can be made into one large bedroom. My only gripe being that the divider does not zip down to the ground so you can't really change the position of your bed without resting it on top of the bottom part of the divider.

For some reason this tent doesn't have any electrical cable inlets (zipped slits), which is a bit strange, and the most bizarre thing is the lack of lamp holders particularly in the side living area. The only lamp holder is above the porch door at the front of the tent. So when you are sitting in the side room at night in your jim-jams its a bit dark. Yes we had a lamp but you need to hang them in the centre of your tent for maximum benefit. Why ever didn't Outwell put a lamp holder between the porch and the inner door?

The 3 hanging rails are a brilliant idea. There is a small one in the side living area, which I used to hang my clothes on. In the front porch there is a larger rail on either side. So one was used to hang coats, cameras etc and the other one, which was above the cooking area was used to hang utensils, teatowels etc.

One thing to watch out for, the footprint is not big enough! We purchased it with the tent, and it was only after we had the tent up that we realised it doesn't fit completely under the bedroom and side area as it should, the width was fine but it is about 2 feet too short. Outwell do not seem to have a contact email, luckily the company we bought it from are trying to get some answers from Outwell for us.

That aside the tent itself is brilliant, very roomy and very stable, a great tent for longer stays.

Time to review our Outwell Tennessee as we have had 3 trips in it in all weathers!

First pitching - as novice campers we found the tent quite easy to pitch,its just the weight that is the problem for myself(weak female) my other half and grown up son manage it no problem.Have to say the plastic pegs were useless. Bent even in soft ground.

Inside space- the space in the tent is fantastic,lots of room in the living area for my 2&4yr olds to play, we have storage bags under the clothes rail. A inflatable couch,small table for kids toys ect and still have plenty room.In the front area we have huge coolbox, hi gear kitchen, folding table chairs, still room for deck chairs.

The zipped windows are nice touch as even in the rain you still feel like you are outdoors.Plenty ventilation around windows,doors.

Tent in heavy rain/strong wind-we had a weekend of very heavy rain and happy to say tent bone dry,only problem is the front door area flapping in the wind,which let in a few drops.(maybe have to velcro it up somehow?)we had 50-60mile winds last Monday while camping and the tent was solid.The ventilation flaps kept blowing open.But hope wont be camping in winds as strong very often.

We havent had the chance to open the tent up yet with the awning up.Looks like it will be great when warm.

All in all we love this tent,think its perfect for family's.

My only complaints are the CRAP! plastic pegs,and a few gaps in the corners of the zipped groundsheet,and front door area.

Love my tent and hope to have many camping trips with it.

Where do I start. You need this tent!

Put this tent up in very very windy conditions but it was easy. We was on a 12 night break at Withernsea. We only stayed for for 7 nights in the end as the winds reached 90mph! But the tent held up infect ours was the only tent left standing on the whole site! But in the end we decided enough was enough. I can not state just how windy it was and how well this tent did.

The space in the tent is fantastic and really usable. The windows really make a big difference. We really love this tent.

But. As the other reviews say the pegs are useless! We have also had to get different pegs. But other than that! Fantastic.

After a disastrous year in 2010 with our Outwell Nebraska XL leaking, we decide to wait for the new 2011 range to be released at the boat and caravan show.

We bought a new Tennessee 5 tent with carpet, cooking stand and various Outwell accessories. Off we went at the end of April camping with our friends for 4 days which we really enjoyed. The tent was fantastic and we are all very impressed with the amount of room. The best part about this tent is the windows, there is huge amount of natural light which for me, makes camping better.

There is a problem, the pegging system didn't work at all as most of the plastic pegs supplied either bent into a banana shape of simply buckled. I contacted Outwell to ask for a solution but they didn't want to know at all. They advised the pegs will bend if the ground is hard or full of rocks however the ground was neither.

After spending in excess of Ł1300 this year alone with Outwell, I now have to buy a full set of metal pegs which Outwell advised me to buy from them!

The tent is fantastic, the after sales care is not.

Just been away for two nights in our new Tennessee 5 and loved it.

We spent a long time considering what tent to buy and settled on this one because the bedrooms are perpendicular to the front of the tent and the rear 'living room'. We found this worked really well because there was place for our 4 year old to play in the living room whilst having the stove, dining table and chairs set up in the front room, all with enough space to move around comfortably. The living room and front room both benefit from lots of windows which gives a great view. We'll pitch it to make better use of that next time!

We had the bedrooms opened out into one large room which meant my wife and I could sleep between the 4 year old and the baby. As they get older we'll get the benefit of more privacy and the bigger bedroom but for now having the flexibility to do either was helpful. There were loads of pockets inside the bedrooms and on the bedroom doors although we'll probably get a tall set of shelves for storing clothes etc. For a longer trip than 2 nights.

With the front door open (which can be an awning or and has a midge mesh) and the back door open too (also with midge mesh) you get lots of air flow and the tent stays a nice temperature. Whilst there are lots of vents (particularly over the windows) they didn't make much noticeable difference.

Pegs are easy to use, tent is very stable without the guy ropes. The guy ropes are easy to put out when it gets windy and store away neatly with the velcro straps. The size and weight of the tent do make it hard to pitch but i'm sure we'll get better with practice.

Two minor niggles really;

We've also got the carpet for the 'living room' which fits well but would benefit from having something to stop it from slipping around.

The groundsheet footprint seems to be half the tent only (presumably the sewn-in groundsheet half) but it didn't seem to match very well and we could feel some of the pegs through the floor. This may become more apparent with time but having pitched it and taken it down I can't say I understand how this is supposed to work. If anything the thing most likely to damage the groundsheet seemed to be the metal pegs on the footprint! The zip-in ground sheet was easy to fit and remove afterwards.
