I love this tent. I also have a Indiana 8 and bought this because I usually put up my tents on my own. I found this one an absolute breeze to put up. If you follow the official video, yes it would be impossible for me to put this up on my own. I use the technique used by the guy on youtube putting up a Montana 6. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iwPkZ872vbw

What a lovely, spacious tent. I agree with previous comments that the tent is not easy to erect with two people, it is a big tent, but easily achievable after studying the official video on Youtube. I am in two minds about the Outwell plastic pegging system. At least 4 of our pegs banana'd after hitting subterranean stone, but to be fair, all held fast in sometimes violently wet and windy weather. Hmmm! The tent has loads of room, the two bedroom pods being separated by the living room, which can be used as a storage area, extra bedroom (or a living room, although I'd rather be in the panoramic room, which has oodles of space). The bedrooms and living area have zip-able doors with closeable mesh screens to aid ventillation and keep bugs out. There is a single door at the rear of the tent for 'through' ventillation and multiple, adjustable doors at the front of the tent that can be opened, propped and pegged to suit your needs. The 'panoramic room' is just so, and enormous, the zip-up curtains allowing you to infinitely adjust your vista/privacy levels. During our stay in sunny Cornwall, the tent endured some very wet and windy/squally weather without complaint, being very stable. Our only issue being the zip-in bathtub-type ground sheet in the panoramic room having gaps that allow drafts in windy conditions. We are going to fit velcro strips to hopefully cure this annoying trait in an otherwise brilliant tent. A shame, as it stops us giving it 10/10. We did not purchase the footprint as this only lays under the living room / bedroom area and we spent most of our time in the panoramic room.

We are experienced campers and wanted a large tent to accommodate our family of 5.
We went for the Tennessee 6 for it's space, light and ventilation as normally camp in south France. We also wanted a regular shape as to fit on these tight pitches.
We loved:
Bright tent pegs as children didn't trip over them as often. We read reviews and bought spare metal pegs as heard that the plastic ones broke easily but we did not need to replace any.
The back and front of the tent opened to allow great ventilation.(It was 30 degrees)
The carpet between the bedrooms was real luxury.
I loved the mesh panels on the bedrooms that allowed in ventilation but no bugs. We easily had 3 airbeds in one bedroom and a double in the other.
The two hanging rails in the living area were great for hanging towels after showers.
Only used it the once but dead impressed, no negatives for us to add.

My friend and I previously owned Pro-Action 10 man Dome Tent. After a few successful camping trips decided it was time to upgrade/downsize to something with more living space.
After hours of internet searches,hundreds of tents later decided on the Outwell Tennesse 6. Boy were we pleased.Watched the promo video and also the How to Pitch.DON'T THEY MAKE IT LOOK EASY!
Off we go.New Tent,footprint & carpet for panoramic room.
Laid out the footprint only to discover it only fits the back end of the tent.
I was so disappointed at how HARD this is too pitch :( (hopefully will get easier with practice)but 2 grown women had a tough time! I found it extremely difficult to insert the pin into tent poles. We got there.
We were not disappointed.Fabulous tent. Worth the hard work.
After reading past reviews we bought metal pegs before our 1st trip.
Only negative I can really think off is front can be very draughty as bathtub groundsheet only zips so far round. Some velcro strips would help to keep out the draught.
No problem packing away as the trolley bag has ample space.
If the tent was as easy to pitch( as they make it look) and the bathtub groundsheet was more secure at front then I would've rated this 10.
All in all its a fantastic tent very spacious (just what we were looking for) Can't wait til our next venture!

Having previously owned a large tent, I needed another. I just happened to be looking at the 'Go-Outdoors' Website . And it appeared to me in an advert on the side. £450 including a carpet and footprint.
It was perfect, just what I wanted . Large living area and bedrooms that are opposite each NOT next to each other.
We journeyed to Bristol and the tent was in their display compound. It was spot on.
It was easy to erect as we watched the instructional video (on the link provided by UKCampsite)and it was as easy as it looked.
The Footprint provided was only the size of the bedroom compartments and the carpet only fitted the gap between the 2 compartments. I was quite disappointed.
The groundsheet of the living area zips onto the the fly sheet and fits like a glove. There are gaps left for electric cables and velcro ties for an electric light and cable, however this only comes down one side (as you look out of the tent, it falls to the RHS)
I like how all the front windows are all zipped rather than tied
The Specs state the tent is a 6 berth, within the 2 compartments, we found that we could only fit 1xDouble bed in each one (therefore 4 berth) but we did fit our luggage and another single bed in the 'corridor'.
The Outwell videos give a really good insight to the tent and to the pitching instructions.

We have to add another review for the Tennessee 6. We loved lots of things about this tent including the layout and the space. It suited us perfectly as we often go camping with friends and it is great to have people in when it is cold and damp yet still have enough room for a kitchen and table and the children can snooze in the back.
It is an expensive tent but we had decided that buying an Outwell was a good investment. We had never heard a bad thing about an Outwell tent.
We purchased our first Tennessee from Go Outdoors in Stockton on a promotion weekend. We eagerly pitched it in the garden to find a hole in one of the many windows at the front of the tent. Disappointed was not the word! Go Outdoors were great and shipped another over from Stockton to our nearest store in York in time for our planned camping trip. We went camping over the Royal Wedding weekend to find that Go Outdoors had given us a second hand Tennessee complete with ripped tent loops, cracked poles and writing on the inner tents! We had trouble with the pegs and also pitching the front part of the tent out. It was a little breezy and it was uncomfortably draughty in the evenings. We had brought a heater which did improve matters.
Go Outdoors exchanged tents without an apology and we tried the third tent whilst camping with friends. Outwell had released a pitching video which made it look so easy so we could not wait. Again however we just could not get the front bucket ground sheet to sit properly and it was draughty in the wind where the zips ended. We started to long for our old Kalahari 10 with complete SIG.
To top it off we noticed on the second day that the roof over the sleeping compartment had started to go mouldy and when unzipping the window at the front - it had a whopping hole in it! Finally when packing up we found that water had seeped in through the ground sheet into the inner tent soaking one of the children's mattresses.
We had spent hours and hours of reserach trying to find the perfect tent and thought we had more or less cracked it with the Tennessee 6. We were so disappointed that an Outwell had let us down in the manufacture and the fact that this great tent was uncomfortable to sit in during the evening in any conditions other than warm and perfect calm.
Go Outdoors gave us a refund and the manager asked us what our lottery numbers were - if he had the same ones he would change them as we were so unlucky.
We have now bought a porch and carpet for our Kalahari 10 and will keep that going this season and look out for a Maritsa 700 or similar during the end of season sales.
We were really looking forward to a lot of camping with the Tennessee - perfect layout, lots of great features but let down by poor manufacture.
It will be interesting to see if anyone else has similar experiences or whether we have been very unlucky!

We have been looking for a roomy tent for a family of 4, and eventually opted for the Tennessee 6 as could not quite stretch to the Tennessee 5 (our preferred choice). Having spent our maiden trip in it, we're very happy with our choice an have no regrets.
The two bedrooms are very roomy and I'm fairly sure they would accommodate the three persons as advertised, although we only had two in each. Between the two rooms the 'living area' is very useful with plenty of space to put shelves and for the kids to play if it's raining. We bought the carpet for this area which was an excellent addition - good quality and as you would expect fits perfectly.
The 'Panoramic Room' is fantastic offering plenty of space to live and cook without falling over one another. The groundsheet was easily zipped in on three sides and kept all the bugs out. There is some nice finishing touches which includes the groundsheet laying flat by the entrance meaning our three year old didn't trip up when coming in and out of the tent, yet at night and during a few torrential downpours the ground sheet zips up for a full bathtub effect.
We did get a small leak, but I must stress we think this is due to us not pegging out correctly. We found water pooled in the corner where the zipped in groundsheet was not correctly located. We'll need to check this next time.
I would agree with the previous review in that the plastic pegs, although nicely coloured but pointless, are prone to stressing as soon as they hit a stone. Why a tent of this price cannot be provided with proper steel peg beats me.
You definitely need two people to put this tent up and I'm sure our initial 1hr attempt will get faster with the use of better pegs and experience.
We also purchased the Outwell foot print but felt a bit conned when we pegged it out and it just covered the bedrooms and living room (and not the panoramic Room), I would recommend doing a web search for a tarp provider, get the full size and pay less all in one go.
In summary the tent is great and copes well with the British weather. I would recommend it to anyone, but can't give it 10 because of the pegs and floor plan issues.

We have just returned from our first outing with our shiny new Tennessee 6. Well - not so shiny. The first one bought from Go Outdoors had a hole in one of the windows and the second which we had to try for the first time this weekend appeared to be second hand as it had frayed peg loops and cracked poles. Another new one is on its way.
We had carried out a lot of research into our new tent. We had a Kalahari 10 and had been pleased with that until the dreadful summer of 2010 and so decided to invest in our holidays for this year and upgrade to an Outwell.
We spent a lot of time watching the helpful chappy on the Outwell videos and decided that we needed a tent that did not take up a massive amount of space on the pitch but did allow us enough room in the tent to cook, eat and live in comfort and still allow us to sleep away from the children. This proved to be quite a tall order but was met by the new Tennessee 6.
The tent is wider than it is long and unfortunately is 25cm too big for a normal pitch on CC site. It is however small enough to fit on most other site pitches and although looks neat from the outside - it is a bit of a tardis.
We were drawn in on the video by the cosy bedrooms at the back of the tent - two three berth pods facing each other across a hallway. The hall is big enough to retreat to in the evening if the weather is cold. We cannot however find the hall carpet shown on the video as the carpets on sale only appear to fit the front room.
The big room to the front of the tent does give you enough space to have a kitchen and a four person table although of course the video made it look huge.
The biggest problem with the tent is that the bucket style ground sheet in the front room is difficult to fit exactly and as it cannot be pegged at the front by the doors - if there is any wind it will get underneath and ruck up. It is also difficult to sit upright so in cool weather it can be rather drafty. Perhaps we will get better at this with practice.
The windows are great as they let so much light in and having zip up curtains is a great idea. There are even hanging rails which will come in really handy - the straps were missing with our tent but we hope that they will be supplied with the replacement.
As the tent only has three arches from steel poles, it is really easy to put up - even in strong wind. The tent is also very stable in the wind which was always a concern with previous tents.
We did not suffer much condensation although we did notice that the boys' sleeping pod did touch the outer shell in the wind which did let some moisture through. We will have to careful with the positioning of sleeping pods in future.
The Outwell tent pegs are rubbish and strongly recommend you purchase metal rock pegs.
Going home - the tent rolled up really easily and it all popped back into the large bag with ease which makes such a nice change. The pole bag is made of very thin material and we cannot see it lasting too long - the pole bag really should be made of the same material as the main tent bag.
So - all in all - we recommend the Tennessee 6. It is not the perfect tent - but as near to it as we have found so far. If the front room could have had a SIG the tent would have scored a perfect 10.
