4 Reviews of the Trout Lake Extension

We bought ours on ebay, second hand, as others have said it's very easy and quick to erect. Invaluable in both rain or sun, a great space to sit under sitting sipping wine and watching the world go by! The only thing we did find is a gap at the side as it fits onto the side porch pole. But the benefits far outweigh this niggle. We would like is the option to add a closed off door/front just to extend our camping season. I wrote to Outwell but they said not enough people want it to make it viable?

Knowing the British weather as it is and keen to sit outside whilst camping the extension provides the opportunity to so this without having to zip and unzip doors and move endless chairs and tables. Although the additional space the extension provides is not extensive you can easily sit four people within this space and still remain out of the wind and wet if necessary. Easily to put up with the elasticated edge, two poles, secure clips, providing one of you is taller than 5ft 4 inches to reach the front of the tent.

We bought this with our trout lake as part of a package in May. Having used it 3 times so far, twice in heavy rain, it's been fantastic. We have cooked on the barbie and sat out all evening watching the heavens open up all around us. The canopy is very easy to pitch and take down even in windy conditions by one person and the quality of materials and workmanship shines through.
My only gripe is that there is no loop or any way of hanging a lamp from the roof and considering there are velcro loops all over the inside of the main tent,i think this is a major oversight by Outwell.
This is a great piece of kit and is a must for any one buying the trout lake

This is a well thought-out design with an elasticated rear edge that fits over the front pole of the tent. It is held in place by four velcro straps on the front pole and then pegged at the base to completely seal any gap between tent and extension. It has 4 large crystal clear windows for excellent brightness and visibility. Quick to put up and take down.
The only negative would be the price. It is a relatively expensive piece of kit given the amount of covered space it adds to your tent.
