We bought this as a bundle with extension, footprint & carpet at the end of the season in 2010. We added a brown nylon Montana awning a couple of years later which is a 99% fit due to similar poles. It's now June 2015 and we've come back from a weekend of intense thundery downpours bone dry and once again so happy we bought this tent despite huge size and weight in the car boot. It's all worth it. There were times it was getting humid in the awning but walking in to the main tent, the poly cotton feels much more comfortable and you really appreciate the difference. We use the awning without a floor and mainly for the table, chairs, boots, coats etc. My only gripes are that there's nowhere designed for a washing line in the awning whereas you can fasten string to the outer pole in the extension, and the rain porch could have been complete for a portaloo like on the Montana- especially on very rainy nights. After 5 years the footprint edge binding is beginning to go at one of the pegging points and we've had to repair one edge of the rear pole sleeve seam where about 2 inches of stitching gave way. We did notice a very fine misty dampness ( not a drip as such) when the rain started but it went after about 10 mins as the cotton did it's thing and that was it for the rest of the weekend. Packing down we found a lake between the floor and footprint but nothing came through. If something awful happened I'd rather try and find another of these second hand than buy most other tents currently on the market. The poly cotton Montana would be closest but is just a bit too big for us when we want a rain safe area outside the main tent ( hence the awning).

OK so what more can I say about this tent that hasnt already been said, well nothing really. Its discontinued now which is a shame but if one does come up buy it as they are very nice tents.

Basically its a polycotton version of Outwells Minnesota albeit in the Mocca colour. If you havent tried a polycotton tent then you really should as they are so much nicer than polyester ones. Cooler when its warm outside warmer when its cooler, very quiet in the wind and best of all no condensation. Although 3 years old ours stood up to 2 horrendous storms and plenty of rain in 2013.

Ours is a used model bought from uk campsite member issym who left a revue of this exact tent in 2011. Nothing has changed since then its still in super condition, everything still works as it should, nothing has broken or even fallen off. We to leave the bedrooms and groundsheet attached and find it easily fits back in the bag.It is a very tall tent im 6ft and struggle to touch the roof so a little folding step comes in handy for attaching the light, and bedrooms if they have been removed.

If anyone has one and is looking for a front canopy, extension or awning the Outwell Montana 6 ones fit as can be be seen in my pics with the extension fitted.

Great tent, the polycotton really makes a difference, in all weathers, it stood up extremely well last year considering the awful summer.

Lovely and warm at night yet cool when the sunshines. Cant wait to go again this year.Really easy to erect, I have managed it on my own in about 40 minutes.

I would recommend the front awning as this helps when opening the front doors which slope and let the rain in, having said this the side door as a canopy which keeps the rain out, great windows with panoramic views.

We used our Yukon River 6 for a full week for the first time this month. We have just got back from Norfolk, I would say this is the best tent I have ever camped in.

The mesh doors were so useful we were able to leave the tent doors open while we were out all day keeping the tent cool for when we got back, and they help keep the flying beasties out! It is a really steady tent too. We experienced a couple of storms while we were away and we slept right through them!

There is plenty of room for four people (2 in each bedroom) to sleep on double airbeds and have a bag each in the bedrooms, we even had room for the dog and his bed! The living area is a good size too.

I really have no complaints about the Yukon River 6.

What can I say? I absolutely love this tent.

Being polycotton makes it heavy to handle but if you keep the ZIG and inner tents separate it's not too bad. I can pitch it with my 11 & 12 year old kids in about 30 minutes, including pegging. It's tall though - I'm 5'6' and can't reach to attach the inners without a step so be warned.

The bedrooms comfortably fit two single airbeds with a reasonable amount of space between or two camp beds with just about enough room for your legs between. As with all tents, it will only sleep what it's meant to if you don't mind it being cosy. Fantastic for up to 4 though.

There's tons of room in the living area, the storage pockets help to keep things tidy (unless your kids are like mine.)and the overall quality is excellent. There's plenty of light from the massive windows, there are air vents all way round and the rain safe door means you don't end up with a soggy floor. The only niggle is that the lantern hook is immediately above the door and I'd worry about having a light up against the canvas. This is easily solved by stringing a length of guy rope across from the door to the inner tent hooks so you can hang the light in the middle.

Bought this tent with front extension and carpet as we wanted a larger unit. The Yukon 6 is a great tent. Plenty of room inside for the two of us and well ventilated. It withstood heavy winds and rain on a recent holiday to North Devon with no problems. The small porch roof on the side of the tent is very handy when its wet to keep the water out when you're entering or leaving the tent.

I was concerned about the pitching of the front extension and if it would handle the weather but no problems at all. However do make sure guy ropes are correctly set. The large front canvas area on the main unit can billow in the wind if not tensioned properly.

It is a high unit. I'm 6'2' and have to stand on tip toes to reach the final hook for the inner tent so the advice about a plastic step in a previous review is a sensible one.

Inside the tent has a handy feature to be able to just use one half of the inner tent and roll up the half not being used giving you a larger living area. The Outwell pocket's on the outside of the inner tent are fabulous - no more searching for keys, torch, phone etc.

It is a heavy unit, no doubt about that, but we've been impressed with the quality of the unit and very happy to have a smart polycotton tent. We're looking forward to many more holidays in the Yukon.

We are currently using this tent, purchased in April 2011, there are 4 of us - 2 adults, large 16 year old son and 12 year old daughter, we find we have plenty of space and that it is very warm and cosy, no leaks and has withstood heavy rain and high winds very well. Only downfall is the pack size and weight, we supposedly 'downsized' from Khyam Ontario 8 which was big, but this tent although smaller length wise is wider and very much bigger packed!

Part 2 - Just returned from a further three and a half weeks in the tent in Cyprus and as good as ever. No problems except that the groundsheet is a little thin but any stronger & it would increase the weight. A couple of tiny areas at the end of stitching runs left openings where insects can climb in but these were dealt with using tape. A little more attention to detail would resolve that and no big deal. Have left the tent erected this time in order not to have to erect in blazing heat next time. We will see how the fabric stands up to blazing sun during June to the end of September. I go back 2nd October for another 2 weeks so hopefully all will be well. Again cannot fault this roomy, airy unit.

Great tent! Easy to put up and get down. Its a very sturdy tent. We left the ground sheet and bedroom inners attached as the ground sheet was quite fiddly to put on the first time. The tent is plenty big enough for the 3 of us. Only down side for me is the pack size is big and heavy!

Really can't fault it for the money.

We bought this as a weekend tent and were not disappointed. It was very easy to erect and lightweight. We even put it all back in the bag with the groundsheet and the bedrooms still attached. We slept 4 adults in the 2 bedrooms, and had 6 adults inside the living area with comfort. I can't comment on it's durability as we only had two nights and the weather was perfect for camping.

I agree with others that it is very high, but as we have problems reaching the top of our Norfolk Lake which isn't as high, we were prepared for this. I take a plastic step with me to stand the water on and I use this to clip in the bedrooms, attach the inner light. The groundsheet isn't as thick as the Norfolk Lake but with the carpet down we couldn't tell the difference.
