1 Reviews of the 4 Person Dome and Porch
By: TCC Rallyman Reason: I own(ed) one Made in: 2011 Rating:
We bought this tent from Argos to use as a base to visit Belgium for a duty free visit. We wanted a relatively small tent as we just wanted a place to sleep for a couple of nights.
We took very little in the way of camping gear (Electric cable, kettle and 2 mugs, 2 cereal bowls, a light, 1 double airbed and 2 zip together sleeping bags.
It is easy to pitch and has a good sized porch area (with 2 entry zips) for storage that stays pretty dry. The inner tent has sewn in groundsheet, a 'double' door, with a zippable mesh layer that zips onto the door which is good in the summer. Using an airbed the tent is only really suitable for two, three would be just about ok just using mats and four nigh on impossible.
As with all 'inner first' tents, the downside is that if it rains, it's going to get wet before you get a chance to put the flysheet on it, fortunately we have been lucky so far.
Taking it down is quick and easy, as with putting it up it is always going to be better to have dry weather especially if moving on to another campsite. As we are towards the older end of tenting campers (50+) we would have preferred something with a little more height for longer stays, but for a couple of nights (or younger campers) this tent suited us fine.
The only negative about the tent itself are the small metal tent pegs, as we had a tent years ago and currently also have a caravan with awning we used the plastic tent pegs for better grip. All in all we found it suitable for our needs and would recommend it.
