2 Reviews of the 2 Seconds Easy 3 Fresh and Black
By: Wannabejclassnomad Reason: I've used one Made in: 2017 Rating:
This is a great little tent.
I agree with all the positive comments of the previous reviewer; it's well made, very well ventilated, reflects the sunlight & has great blackout abilities, has useful pockets and light hanger, there are extra guy lines and pegs for windy weather, etc.
I disagree with many of the negative comments though; the dimensions are clear on the website - yes, it works best for two people, though would be OK for three, say, at a festival. Just check it meets your needs before buying. It's very easy to erect & pack - there are helpful tabs which make it a doddle (though the final fold does need to be practiced a couple of times).
Having used this tent extensively on a long overland trip this year (40 nights camping, different location each night), the 'negative' points we noted are:
* Condensation - as with all polyester tents, but not as bad as many because of the excellent ventilation.
* Pack size - none of these popup tents fold to a super small pack size. Not normally a problem though if you're car touring.
* That ventilation - it's excellent, BUT, on cold nights, all that free air movement between the inner and outer can make things a bit chillier (We were still toasty though, with decent sleeping mats and bags). But absolutely perfect for summer or warm/hot climates.
After many nights of use in often tough conditions (hot, dusty, sandy, gravely, rainy, sub-zero, etc) ours is still going strong and I'd definitely recommend.

SOLD AS A 3 PERSON POP UP TENT, HOWEVER ONCE IT ARRIVED IT WOULD BARELY ACCOMODATE A STANDARD DOUBLE AIRBED, THE DESCRIPTION ON THE WEBSITE CLEARLY STATES THE FOLLOWING
'Designed for 3 people camping looking for a tent that's quick to assemble and dismantle, that's cool and dark for a good night's sleep. The new 2 Seconds, just as quick to pitch, now has the Easy system to help you fold it down. The Fresh and Black technology keeps the tent Cool for sleeping comfortably. It also keeps it Dark, making it a black out tent. .
I already own a Quecha 3 person pop up tent but liked the idea of a blacked out tent for better quality sleep, I thought at first I had been sent a 2 person tent by mistake until I looked on the side and its said 3- however when I looked at my invoice which is not generated until 'after you pay' it said in greyed out faint print (2 persons) well its either a 3 berth or it isn't ! and if sold as a 3 person tent then how on earth can you later describe the same item as a 2 person tent.
The headroom on this tent is also very low - Im a vertically challenged 5ft 5inches bloke on a good day, yet when I sat up on the inflated Airbed my head touched the tent roof (a potential for the roof to leak if touched when its raining) . My airbed is a standard size Coleman comfort not a huge kingsize liferaft type .
The corners of the airbed also pushed into the top end of the tent which again would be the source of a leak if it was raining and pressing against the outer tent.
There was 11 cm gap either side of mattress when it was inflated in the tent -so where the third person would sleep still remains a mystery to me.
The concept and design of the tent is great, good ventilation, lovely and dark with an outside material that reflects the sun, but where it falls down badly is the actual size of it.
It would be great for a festival tent for 2 persons if you put your gear in the car -or don't mind clambering all over it inside the tent , because the room inside is very limited, like a hybrid between a bivvie and a pop up tent.
I love the older pop up tent by Quecha but this is sadly never in a month of sundays a 3 person tent.
So in summary- PROS great ventilation, tricky to stow until you get the hang of it - but thats not really an issue.
Lovely and dark inside, with stow pockets and a lantern loop.
CONS - only suitable for two people and even then a cramped space.
Inner tent too close to outer tent - the gap has been reduced.
Potential to get dirty being a white tent - grass stains etc.
You slide of your airbed out of the door - if its raining you will get your bedding wet as the door design is slanting inward - with a slight peak over the door .
The peak above the door looks good but essentially does nothing to stop rain coming into the open tent.
Sadly I am returning this tent as it is not fit for purpose as a 3 person tent which is why I bought it in the first place, if they brought out a bigger sized 3 / 4 person black out tent with a porch it would be a winner.
2 person festival tent yes .3 person tent no way
