3 Reviews of the Air Seconds Family 4.1 XL

So quick to pitch, and feels very stable, even in windy conditions.
I own a large tunnel tent with poles, but really wanted an air tent for quite a while. I decided to buy this one for weekend trips where the large tent would take too long to pitch, and I have not been disappointed. It's a good size for 2 people, takes next to no time to pitch, is easy to pack down, and has lots of nice little features, like the rain guard on the roof vent that pops up in the wind to stop the rain blowing in (the vent is good at stopping condensation overnight).
The mesh and clear window are a bit awkward, and a mesh door on the front would have been a nice addition, but if you're heading for a weekend away this is a great tent to have!

This is great value! £200 for a good size inflatable tent. I have used this several times over the last couple of years. I go solo ‘comfort’ camping but I’m away for weeks at a time so needed something easy to erect on my own, not too big so that it’s a waste and could be cold but I also needed something big enough so that my nieces could come with me when the fancy took them. This is perfect!
Easily pitched on my own, quick and simple to erect. It’s sturdy and has had lashings of the wet Welsh weather thrown at it and performed superbly.
The colour scheme is not fantastic but my nieces love it. The groundsheet is not sewn in and has to be pulled taut for it to stay in its bucket shape but these are just niggles rather than complaints. I like the window/mesh set up. It works for me.
My brother was so impressed with it he’s now purchased one and is happily camping along side me.
The only thing that lets Quechua tents down is Quechua them selves do not offer carpeting for them. The last two times we’ve been my nieces were getting cold playing in the living area due to the lack of carpet. I’m looking now to try a substitute carpet, any suggestions are appreciated by the way!

This is an excellent summer tent and unbelievable value at £200.00, or thereabouts. We used ours for three months continuously this year and have only a few niggling comments to make, with no complaints. The first is the colour scheme, which is awful and takes some getting used to, although we never came to like it. The second is the window arrangement: we would have liked mesh vents with external flaps on both sides rather than one mesh vent with an internal flap on one side and one window on the other. The third is the sloping front and the tapered entrance flap which seriously reduce the area available for relaxation when the weather is bad.
Those aside, the tent performed faultlessly for twelve weeks of continuous occupation, including six weeks continuous pitch on one site. The, from memory, 4,000 mm hydrostatic head was more than adequate to keep out the torrential rain that occasionally punctuated the seemingly endless record dry spell of last summer and the air beam and guying system defied the not infrequent gale force winds. The lack of a sewn in groundsheet and roof clerestory aided ventilation on all but the hottest stillest days although from mid August onwards the nights were cold and we needed several layers of clothing and two sleeping bags each in order to sleep at nights.
Overall I'd rate this tent as excellent at any price but unbelievably good value for money at £200.00, or thereabouts, when we bought ours.
