We were GIVEN this tent by a colleague as it doesn't have a built in ground sheet and she bought one that does. I can't believe they were going to actually throw it away! I cannot fault this tent, it is really easy to assemble (my 13 year old and I can put it up in about 15 - 20 mins tops), it withstands the wind and rain and feels spacious yet cosy. I have looked at other tents and can honestly say nothing but winning some money and looking at some seriously expensive kit could ever tempt me away from this tent and even then I'd think twice. It is sturdy and packs away into a sensible sized bag rather than trying to squeeze it into something that would fit a tube of toothpaste. The sleeping pods are a good size with an inner zippable insect mesh which allows you to air them during the day as you can leave the main flap open without fear of sharing your bed later that night with the ugly bug ball. The sleeping pods are self contained with their own built in ground sheets. I think of myself as most fortunate to have stumbled upon this tent and if you are lucky enough to be offered one, snap it up!

This tent is great- we use it for the two of us therefore we have bedroom cosy and snug , dressing room next door for clothes and other gear leaving a lovely space as lounge and sun area. The windows all round the day area allow a great feeling of space. We have been in all weathers latterly a squall in West of Scotland rain and gales did nothing to disturb or warm and cosy home. Would recommend to anyone.

We had no problems with this tent, stayed in the Lake Fistrict and the weather was bad with strong gale force winds and heavy rain but to the tents credit it withstood both elements well with no leaks etc or broken poles.

Very roomy inside with good head height, the tent is simple to erect and offered good value for money for a 4man tent .Only gripe it could have done with a sig which would have made it cosier all things considered would recommend it. We sold it and the buyers were pleased also, a match for the bigger branded tents

I've just got back from using my Alta DX for its first outing in Yorkshire, the lovely Autumn torrential downpours and heavy showers or the gusting winds didn’t seem to bother it, apart from one leak where the lantern tag in the main living area (seems not enough seam sealant). It’s fairly easy to put up as I'm no strongman, yet managed it on my own due to the simple four pole design. I did use heavier duty pegs for the main guy lines as the standard items provided seem a little small, otherwise it really is a match for the big brand products without a big price!

After purchasing this tent direct from tentastic on Wednesday 3rd sept as a last min replacement it was delivered Friday morning 5th sept

Not having the weather to put it up before we went camping on the Sunday, 7th sept, my wife and I found it a little confusing to put up, the instructions are very vague, with the poles threading through quite long sleeves, this was our problem, trying to pull the sleeve evenly, resulting in us ripping one sleeve 4 to 6 inches.

Once the tent was up, we only fitted one bedroom, lots of room, we had a couple of horrible nights, strong winds and very heavy rain. Wow, this tent really stood up to the elements fantastically. No leaks at all.

If I had to change anything about this tent, it would be to remove the sleeves for the poles and replace them with strong webbing straps at 12' to 18' intervals with a strong ring attached to each one, I am sure this would enable the main flysheet to be evened out much more quickly and easier.

Oh what a tent expected the same as other reviewers you get what you pay for etc etc. But it was only a temporary purchase and considering I paid £51.50 for it on ebay it was a great short term option!

Trade my tent up for a more expensive one? You must be joking!

WHAT a tent excellent size easy to put up, has put up with our awful weather this year including Norfolks deluge on 12th August. I use my tent at least 5 times a year for various events at Santa Pod and even when other tents are failing with the winds that whip over the fields mine's still standing.

I would recommend this tent without reservation the bedrooms are more than roomy. Its easy to set up my table and chairs in the living area and the moveable door is fantastic!

Get yourselves onto ebay and bag a bargain one while you still can but don't tell everyone or there will be none left :-)!

I can truly recommend this tent, its awesome! We are only two and so its great to use one bed cabin to sleep and the other to store clothes and other gear and use as a dressing room. As we are both quite tall the 2meter height means goodbye to those bad backs for anyone stooping to dress and move around in the old fashioned small tents- believe me we've been there! There's bags of room in each bed cabin giving a great nights rest. The living space is really spacious with bags of room to entertain new found camping friends- you can easily seat eight inside around a table for those relaxed evenings with perhaps a little tot of something if its raining. As another reviewer mentioned the versatility of being able to move the front panel back means that the front section of the living area can become an awning for the sun and you still have a good space just infront of the bed cabins to sit and eat etc. The two small windows in the front face and four large ones in the living area give all round light and allow you to still view the scenery when the weather means sitting indoors- each window has the top half in gauze mesh so ventilation is good too, very easy to erect and dismantle even with just two people and easily packs into its oversized carry bag- so no more re packing and squeezing into the bag. We have experienced all weathers too including a recent squall on the North Yorkshire coast- but all was well and we stay dry, safe and warm. In short super tent- would recommend to anyone.

I bought a Rage Alta 4DX in summer 2007 from E-bay for £50 inc. P + p.

Expecting that 'you get what you pay for' I was prepared to be less than enthusiastic about the tent when I used it. However, I was pleasantly surprised. I used it for 4 weekends, 3 of which were very wet (remember July 2007), one of those was windy enough to see off my old Sunncamp Day Room, and the 4th was in very windy conditions on the side of a hill in the Peak District. It handled it all very well, no leaks, no rips or tears, no broken poles.

I subsequently sold it to a friend for £25 and he is very impressed with it as well.

Previous 4 berth tents I have owned have not really been big enough for 4, but I would say each of the two bedrooms is big enough for a double air bed and of course has standing room. I found the tent spacious (but then I've never had a very big tent) The front wall can be used part way along so that you have a smaller inside living area and a front porch to cook in, or it can be zipped at the very front to give a much larger 'living room'.

All in all I reckon it was well worth the money. A neat touch was the inclusion of a tent repair kit, I've not had one with any other tent or awning I've ever bought. I felt I got very good value for money.
