1 Reviews of the Mercury
By: Johns559 Reason: I own(ed) one Made in: 2014 Rating:
I purchased this tent for cycle camping as it has a large porch , very easy to put up , just peg out the four corners , open the door and fit the single upright alloy pole . You now have your tent standing and can finish pegging out the base and three guy lines .
The inner is big enough for two and is the same width at both ends .
The only negative comments I would like to make are , the two air vent in the roof don't allow enough air into the tent and when it's raining have to be closed because the protective rain cowls don't come down low enough to prevent the rain from entering the tent .The angled storage pockets on the inner are next to useless , as any item put there will end up on the floor .Lastly the four short corner poles should have been fixed directly to the flysheet and not the webbing ,then you put tension on the corner of the tent .Why don't tent designers try their products first before there are put on sale ?
Would I buy this tent again ? No .

Manufacturer's Description
Mercury has the option of using walking poles (not supplied) as support for the main tent and the sheltered porch extension with side panels. With a central anodised pole (supplied, a walking pole can be used to trim weight further), four short attached corner poles and reflective guylines with Clamcleat sliders, pitching and adjustment is fast and easy. With its own pole, Fast Foot ’holsters’ at the flysheet apex and the inner tent front, hold it securely, the zipped door can be raised for cooking sheltered from the rain. The inner attaches to the fly at the guyline points to maximise internal space. It can be pitched flysheet first or as one and the flysheet can be used on its own as a group shelter. Hydrostatic Head: 2000 mm Flysheet: HydroTex XTL with sealed seams, 20D ripstop 100% nylon siliconized outside and PU coated inside.
