1 Reviews of the Prospector
By: ChrisPen Reason: I own(ed) one Made in: 2017 Rating:
We bought this tent along with the tarp and stove and a few other Robens goodies 2 months ago, have used on 5 separate occasions already and we absolutely love it. This tent is spacious with plenty of room to stand up in (we looked at Tentipi at first but as we are both tall there was a lot of wasted space) and suits all our camping needs - we are looking forward to winter camping as the stove provides so much heat.
This tent is a base camp tent and would not recommend if touring from site to site, the tent, tarp and stove take about an hour to set up and as you can see from my photos the tent is well equipped so takes another 2 hours to put up all the furnishings, lighting etc.
We camped at Cheesewring on Bodmin Moor at the end of May and the tent withstood one of the heaviest rain & thunderstorms I have ever witnessed with only a little rain coming through the chimney cowling.
The tent is very well made and is double lined where it rests on the frame and no leaking there.
I can highly recommend the Robens Prospector, but it is not light weight - we invested in a 6x4 trailer to carry all the equipment, but we do Glamp rather than camp! The tent also creates a lot of interest from other campers as the style is quite unusual - so be prepared to meet lots of new people if you purchase one!

Manufacturer's Description
The Prospector captures the spirit held in those sepia images of old American prospectors and pioneers. It combines our technical cotton with a sturdy steel A-frame and ridge pole for stability and comfort. The retro good looks are enhanced by practical features like an elasticated stovepipe port and a zip flap in the sewn-in groundsheet for safe positioning the optional stove. The optional three-person inner and six-person inner provide added privacy and draught protection.
