1 Reviews of the Wolf Moon TC 5XP

This is a really lovely tent. Have only used for approximately two and a half weeks in the south of France so not able to comment on long term durability but the tent feels really well made. This tent was our replacement for a vista 600 and feels like an improvement on the vista in most aspects apart from the pack size and weight! It’s relatively easy to pitch and has colour coded poles and sleeves to make sure you get the poles in the correct holes. The 3 main poles are pre bent and there is an additional small pole for the front ‘awning’. There are numerous guying points and it takes a bit of work to tension the tent correctly to remove’sag’ and enable the zippers on the main doors to close without excessive tightness on the zips. The key to this is use of the tension bands where the poles fasten into the ground sheet -they need to be tightened correctly (there’s a good video on you tube posted by Robens to help but no mention in the pitching instructions). The pitch is probably a fifteen minute effort for two people.

The tent has a bedroom which is really comfortable for four people with decent size sleeping mats although it could probably sleep 5 at a push. The inner tent clips onto the fly easily and has a divider which can be rolled up to create one bedroom if needed. It is a blackout inner and also has blackout ceiling covers which can be rolled back to increase ventilation(there’s a fine mesh on the inner above). The slightly smaller half of the inner can also be collapsed to give more interior space in the tent.

The main tent has a decent space to pop a table and chairs inside if needed. The tent has two side doors which work differently. One can be pegged/poled(poles not included) out to create an additional side awning (has mesh as well!). The other door is a mesh plastic window combination.

The front of the tent can be rolled back to make a door or opened out completely. The small front awning and wings create a bit of weather protection for entry and exit to the tent.

In use the tent was pretty cool in warm weather and the ability to open the tent up completely really helps with ventilation. The tent kept us dry in torrential rain as well so appears to be water tight.

Overall this feels like a great four person/family tent - the technical cotton fabric is great and breathes well. The only annoying bits about the tent are the tricky tensioning during pitching and the lack of reflective guys.
