10 Reviews of the Biarritz 9

Brilliant and spacious tent took a while to put up but once we new how I reckon its going to be a lot easier next time plenty of room to stand up in an warm as well, made even better with the carpets that came with it easily sleeps 9 people and loads of room for all the extras you need to take when camping .

Absolutely brilliant tent with so much room we have easily accommodated two families in it. Pitching is hard work but I've done it on my own before; it's far, FAR easier with two of you. The one criticism on pitching it, is that you have to tie the flysheet to the inner to do it properly. However I have discovered that not doing the ties isn't a major issue, even when it's quite windy.

The bedroom vents must have been updated in later models, because mine has zips on all of them. I don't like the strap across the front of the porch; it sits about 2' above the ground and is too easy to trip over.

This is a very large tent and has ample space inside, with headroom throughout. We used two rooms as bedrooms and one room as storage so we could use the large living area when needed at night to get out of the rain.

It is a two person job putting this tent up and you have to make sure you pin the inner tent down before you insert the poles otherwise it will blow away. You need one person to hold up the centre of the inner tent while the other person walks round inserting the poles.

Once up it is a lovely airy tent and there are vents in each room that you can open or close depending on the weather.

One downside is that you cannot block the window vents in the bedrooms and when you have the wind howling round the tent at night you cannot stop the breeze getting in.

Lovely family tent

This is an excellent tent overall, with lots of space for a family. I would however echo other comments in that 2 people are required and the colour coding is misleading the first time you put it up. A few more goes and we will be under an hour! On the plus side it feels robust, and resilient to rain, so ideal for our weather! For the money this is a great family tent and I would recommend.

Just spent a rainy bank holiday in this tent stayed dry throughout, getting quicker at putting it up as its only the 2nd time of putting up.Looking forward to two week holiday in it. Found the zips for the electric very useful, expected it to be draughty but considering the weather very pleased. Although there are only two of us camping most of the time its good to have plenty of space

Not really happy with this tent. It's incredibly heavy and not possible for one person to put up by themselves. It took two of us an hour the first time. 45 mins the next time. With having to erect the inner tent first, when it rained it was a nightmare to put away as everything got muddy. I tried to take it down by myself, but failed, two of the poles snapped under the weight of the rest of the tent. However, once it's up it is spacious and a good refuge when it rains.

Just retuned after our first trip in our Biarritz 9. As it is inner first erection you ideally need dry conditions to put up and down. This we were fortunate to have. Although it is possible to fit 9 people in this tent, by the time you add all their gear it would be asking a bit much despite it being large. But this is no difference to other manufactures claims. I am very pleased with the overall finish and all the little items like ehu slots pockets in the main areas and in the bedrooms and velcro strips to guide the light wire. It withstood a downpour and breezy conditions in its stride. I am lead to believe that they have stopped making this model now although it may still be available in shops. Get yourself a bargain and find one on discount I feel sure you wont be disappointed.

Great tent. Just used it for a 9 night stay. Lots of space in the bedrooms and living area, easy to put up and pack away. Kept us dry through 4 days and nights of torrential rain. Headroom good in living area. Porch area useful space to cook or sit in. Bedroom vents effective. Hardly rippled in strong winds.

This tent was a bit confusing the first time we put it up but after that it was a doddle. It is a brilliant tent with a vast amount of space and it has just served us well for seven nights in the Lakes in torrential rain and thunderstorms.

Excellent tent - inner pitch first contrary to the above description. Instructions were a bit confusing but once we worked out that the poles that make the dome aren't colour coded it only took us about an hour. This is a big tent with lots of living space and good sized bedrooms. I could stand up in the bedroom - though I'm only 5'3'! Seems to be made to a good standard with storage pockets, light hook, vented windows etc. We're very pleased with it.
