2 Reviews of the Bordeaux 4 Select ZG
By: Luckylew Reason: I own(ed) one Made in: 2009 Rating:
Big tent and not one for the faint hearted. However if you wish to have a tent with ample sleeping space, an enormous amount of living space, plenty of standing room and lots of windows then say no more. We had a week in fforest fields near builth wells and one night the wind was blowing a gale and the rain was torrential. We were unscathed however many other tents near to us not so lucky. We picked up our tent second hand so was a great buy. We have since purchased a Carolina m which suits us more for a shorter break as the Bordeaux takes a good 40/50 mins to put up.

Used for 2 weeks, one in Wales and one in SW Scotland. I am a seasoned camper but found this tent rather a faff to put up. Took a good 40 mins too, which in the lovely Welsh/Scottish Summer was far from ideal. Once up, there is a lot of flapping in even a minor wind. Lots of little twiddly bits that don't seem very secure. And it leaks! The rain was heavy but I have seen much worse. It leaks in corners and little difficult to reach places. However it did still keep us dry and does have ample space for a young family of four. Awning attached to front was very useful. Two final points, it is even more difficult to pack and the bag has castors attached for a very good reason - it is damn heavy. This tent could be used as an olympic event.
