5 Reviews of the Vegas 8 Select

We purchased this tent second-hand through an auction site and have not regretted it. Having endured many wet nights in smaller tents this provides a welcome alternative.
We have the equivalent of four adults in the family, three of whom are over 6ft tall and all of us are able to stand up straight throughout the tent.
The bedrooms are flexible and spacious, allowing two, three or four of us to go away in it. It also has a great central area to eat, play or read! The storm entrance has provided us with an area to store food as we haven't been out in weather that is that bad yet, but I know it could be invaluable if we have a repeat of the weather we have had in Britain this summer next year.
I would agree with one of the comments above that an awning would be a good idea, but we can live without it. I have, however, managed to find an equivalent foot-print ground sheet and tent carpet that fits.
We have certainly had many envious comments about the size of the tent. A great family tent and excellent second-hand purchase!

I love this tent. It is small on the site but large inside (magic!). We used it for 9 days in Wales and endure strong rain and wind and had no problems. We used the annex for the kitchen - nice because you can shut it if the toddler tries to play in it
The only complaint I have is that it does not have an awning over the front door and there does not seem like an option to buy one separately.
The bedroom pods are lovely and flexible.
The zip in ground sheet makes packing, pitching and cleaning very easy

Just used this tent for the first time for a week in Wales and it was wonderful - no leaks or problems of any kind. We have 4 children and there was room for all us to sit comfortably inside when the weather was bad.
There are 4 'bedrooms'. Two double rooms then a large 4 berth with a dividing curtain to split it into 2 rooms. Again plenty of room for all of us, although obviously with a double bed in, there's no room for anything else.
On one side of the tent is the canopy with a full fly screen and on other side is a small room for leaving wet shoes etc, so it's a great storage space, leaving more room inside the tent. Quite a few people on our site admired the size of this tent and the amount of living space inside.
The groundsheet is attached with a zip - so can be removed if on a site which doesn't allow them in order to preserve grass. It was really easy to put up (even for us beginners!) and the most complicated bit of taking it down is working out exactly how to fold it to get it back into the bag!

I love this tent! Compared to our last one this is a breeze, from bag to all inners and fully guyed in just under an hour. I agree with the other reviewer, you definitely need two people to pitch it. We too found it easier to pitch then zip in the groundsheet.
We have had no leakage problems at all, we have just come back from 10 days in Dorset, it rained hard one night and not the slightest ingress of water.
The guylines are bright bright yellow so can be easily seen they are also very thick unlike others I have seen, there are plentiful pegs and they are good thick long pegs as opposed to the little 6 inch thin things you get with some tents.
There are plenty of tent tidy pouches on both the outside and inside of the pods and the smaller pods are ample enough to fit a double air mattress with space at the side and bottom.
In the heat, having doors both sides really helped with circulating the air and the full fly mesh on the main door is a godsend, it means we can have the door fully open, or use the porch poles and not be bombarded with midges.
The storm door is also a great idea, meaning we can dump wet shoes and not traipse it all through the tent.
I can find no fault with this tent at all, and I hope we get many years of use out of it.

We've used this tent twice now, and in general are very happy with it. Pitching is getting easier - we have it down to about an hour, and I'm sure it will get quicker. However, it does really need 2 adults to pitch it. We did find it easier to pitch it without the ground sheet zipped in.
A big advantage is the flexible space. All the bedrooms pods are removable, so you can put in any configuration that meets your needs.
The headroom is great - a tall adult can easily stand in all areas, and the bedrooms are spacious - both in length and width (the 2man berths can fit 2 single air mattresses with a gap in between).
The only reason we're not giving this tent 10 out of 10 is because it does leak in water when it rains. It's not a massive leak, and we haven't been able to track it down yet - it could be from a seam or the zipped in ground sheet at the corners. It's only in 2 corners though, and because the bedrooms pods have their own sewn in ground sheets it hasn't really impacted us. Once we find it, I'm sure we'll be able to remedy it.
