I own this tent and tested it out on a weeks camping last week. It was really comfortable, especially with the carpet. I agree with the other reviewer that the colour scheme is a bit 70's but in terms of comfort we were really happy with it. We use the side porch for the toilet and the front canopy as the kitchen. We rolled up the divider between the bedrooms as our kids always end up in our bed anyway and had one huge bedroom. This tent remained really stable in wind - other tents were flapping about. It also came within the normal pitch size so we were not charged extra as it measures 8x4 metres.

The tent stayed cool during a particularly hot patch and we found the mesh bit of the windows to be perfectly adequate. There are good ventilation vents around the bedrooms.

Overall we are really pleased with this tent. The high head height make it feel very specious.

I was very keen to buy this tent, but after finally tracking one down to see it up close I decided against it and plumped for a Wolf Lake 5 instead. It seems these tents aren't available to view at many places so I thought I'd add a few comments to help out.

As I said I was keen to buy this tent. It ticks a lot of boxes: polycotton, a good size for 2 people to live in for 2 weeks (i.E. It's a 4-man tent), it has the front canopy which we wanted, and it comes in at quite a bit cheaper than say the Outwell Lakes. That's all good.

Now for why I didn't buy it (If you've got this tent and love it please go and make yourself a lovely cup of tea, at any rate stop reading now it'll just annoy you). We'd seen quite a few other polycottons and the material on this one didn't seem as good. There was a distinct lack of mesh options on the windows, which when we thought about why we wanted to buy a PC tent (primarily to deal with hot weather better) didn't seem like the right design choice. And as my girlfriend said it just looked a bit old-fashioned and unattractive. Now this last point is entirely subjective and the next person along could love it's retro, rugged good looks. Saying that, I was the next person along and I had to agree with her. It comes low down on the list of what I'm looking for in a tent, but I'd prefer to have something I like the look of. In general there was a lack of nice little touches that you can find in other tents, like the low light windows in the Outwells bedrooms which really are rather useful (for more light/air in the morning without getting up). One of the extra touches the tent did have was a pole going at head height, internally along the side of the tent in the living room area. It didn't look like it was providing much in the way of structural support, but seemed to be there more to hang things on. Not a bad idea maybe. But as far as I'm aware if you have things resting against the inner surface of the PC flysheet it'll draw water through, which is exactly what you'd have with this. I stand ready to be corrected on the resting of stuff against flysheets, but that is the advice I have been given.

Some helpful info:

- 2 smallish mesh windows on the side doors, no mesh option on the side wiondows.

- the front canopy is not removable, and is a single sheet of material - i.E. The sides are NOT removable as I had read previously

- the bedroom is one room with a divider that can be rolled back (with no raised bit on the floor - we liked that)

- the groundsheet was very good quality

- the side windows went down really quite low so more views, but maybe less strength

- there is a little side extension suitable for storage or maybe a toilet

- the matching carpet didn't feel that great, I'd consider getting something else that fits

- all the windows have hoods over them which are supported by thin poles

All in all I still liked this tent, but could see what the extra money of an Outwell equivalent pays for. If you're looking for a Bear Lake 4 with a full front canopy, and the the fat trimmed off, then I'd consider this tent. But really I reckon it needs to be at least another hundred quid cheaper (the best price we found was £565) for it to be a good option.

Have fun.
