5 Reviews of the Saturn 8
By: Vickyslip Reason: I own(ed) one Made in: 2012 Rating:
Lovely big tent perfect for the 5 of us
It held up well to winds and only had one leak ( torrential rain) right on the bit that holds the lantern but it was really and issue and wasn't much at all overall we are very pleased with this tent . It didn't take long to put up or down and was perfect size for us to have a table and chairs in as well as some very large comfy chairs still with loads of room left ,
I definitely will be purchasing another one of these when the time comes

We were worried about using this tent for our two week holiday in France, this was after a trial run to put it up before going, the stitching was broken on the rear pegging point before we even used it. The inner tent was missing fixings (see pictures).
The space in the tent was great, only four of us. Wish Outwell or Kampa made a tent with these dimensions.
Porch area worked really well and overall, living in the tent for two weeks was great. We never had any storms, but it rained very heavily for twelve hours solid, only a few leaks to report and after our initial concerns we were very impressed.
This could be a great tent if only the quality was better, much better. I would have been gutted if I had paid £600 for this tent. We paid £50 extra when Skandika offered us a replacement for our Gotland 6 as that tent was also faulty, but the customer care from Max Traider was first class. If you can get a Saturn 8 for around £200, its a lot of tent for your money, but the quality issues could let you down.
Our next tent will either be a Outwell Vermont XL or Kampa Studland. Can't wait for next summer.

Lovely big tent but alas not of good quality, the zip on the front door insect screen broke the first time it was used so could only be partly opened. Several of the pole connections broke which is a nightmare when trying to thread through the very long sleeves (keep coming apart and snagging on the material). The tabs along the back of the tent came unstitched during a windy night and the most important problem overall I think was the lack of guy ropes and pegtabs (only 4 tabs along the rear which is 5 metres wide. Paid nearly six hundred for this tent so wasnt cheap

Have a Saturn 6.
First tent used twice and ended up with broken zips, tab and pole. Replacement sent, used once, broken zip!
Cheap zips. Nowhere to attach side guide ropes
Cant cope with light winds never mind heavy!
Front doesnt peg down so hard for kids to get in and out.
Very easy to put up if no wind otherwise 4 pairs of hands required.

Well this tent is huge 6.6m x 5.2m . Very easy to put up, took about 45mins but had to put the guylines on as well so next time will be quicker. The bedrooms are very big. We first used it on a very wet and windy weekend it held up very well but 2 straps on the sig snapped. A bit of rain came through the seams but it was torrential rain. Overall I was very pleased with it I paid £350 inc pp a bargain
