2 Reviews of the Torino 5
By: Pnoguer Reason: I own(ed) one Made in: 2012 Rating:
UPDATE: After using it for few weekends I´ve decided to sell it, because we realised that we really like to camp a maximun of three nights at a site, so finally went for an easyer tent when pitching,(pyramid tent) cause this is the only con we could find; Guiding the fibre poles through the sleeves is quite hard to do everyday or every two days. For longer stays it would be fine. Nothing to complain about the quality. It´s definitely a good value if you are planning 3-4 days or longer stays. Very airy and spacious. Lots of features. I recommend it.

I have just used the tent for four days and this is only a preliminary review. Let's see what happens in extreme weather.
I used this tent because me , my wife and our cat wanted a comfortable, spacious tunnel tent fully protected with mesh at the doors. At a reasonable price. By now it works fine. And looks sturdy enough. There are good details, like the roof window, detachable room separator, ventilation can be managed easily. The only thing I didn't expect was the weight of the pack it is not too big, something like a cylinder of less than 1m x 0.4m diameter. But it weights 19 kg, 3 more than announced by the manufacturer. Now I see the size pitched looks not too much but could be difficult to move for one person.
As soon I try in severe conditions I will write more.

Manufacturer's Description
The TORINO is an attractive tunnel tent suitable for up to 5 people and ideal for a family vacation. Pitching the tent is a child''s play and can be done by one person alone. Simply put the flysheet flat on the ground and fix it with pegs on one side. Slide the poles into the channels and put tension on them via the ring pin system. Now the entire tent can be erected on the side which is not fastened yet. Finally simply fasten the remaining side and use the guy lines for tension adjustment. The sleeping cabins are already pre-assembled.Yet the Torino is very sturdy and offers perfect weather protection. Its free standing tunnel construction due to the inner main poles reduces stress on the tension points for durability. The sleeping cabins are already pre-assembled. A sewn-in ground sheet and sealed seams guarantee rain water protection. Fitted mosquito netting and screens will keep out all nasty insects. Breathable tent material and various ventilation openings ensure a comfortable indoor climate. The generous peak height and many windows create an airy atmosphere and give room to move. The TORINO has a water column of 3.000 mm and will protect against even the nastiest weather. The water column describes the quality and strength of the tent coating: the higher the water column, the more water resistant the coating ( ...and the higher the price). A tent is considered waterproof at 1,200 mm (47.2"), but the difference between this and higher levels becomes obvious as soon as it rains heavily. Many well thought of details like organizers, panorama roof windows and a fastening fixture for a lantern are proof of this model''s great functionality. The tent comes in a practical carry bag together with guy ropes, pegs and instructions
