1 Reviews of the Torino 6
By: Surfbabe01 Reason: I own(ed) one Made in: 2011 Rating:
We have just recently bought this tent on Ebay for the bargain price of £180.00 plus £14 P&P (identical tents are selling for around £200 usually on Ebay at the moment. Lots of people bidding on them, so they are getting to be extremely popular. There are also 4 man and 5 man versions of this available on Ebay too)
I was slightly wary of how good/bad this tent would be, despite how great it all looked and how easy they manufacturers said it would be to put the tent up. We are newby campers, and although we felt that we would prefer to buy a larger tent for our added comfort, we were concerned about whether we would find it easy enough to erect or not.
After watching a couple of the tents sell on Ebay, and picked up on how the bidding war was likely to go, we decided to go for it!
We are so glad that we did! Put the tent up in our friend's garden a few days ago, and we are delighted with it! It's huge! Very sturdy, bedroom compartments already built up inside when the tent stands up. You will be able to watch a short video on Ebay which shows you how the tent is erected. It looks too good to be true, but it does exactly what they it does!
The only issue that we did have was that we lost one of the elastics up inside one of the bendy poles. This was due to the manufacturers not having tied big enough knots in both ends of the elastics. We solved this problem by firstly attaching a string to end of the lost elastic and had to pull it back through all the short pieces of the bendy pole and then attached a stainless steel washer on to the end of the elastic and then tying a large knot in it to prevent the elastic from disappearing up the poles again! (I have contacted the manufacturer and informed them of this issue and they are going to look in to doing something similar to prevent this from happening to other buyers)
If you decide to buy this tent, then all you would have to do is make sure you check all the knots on the ends of the bendy poles and add a washer on to each end if you felt it necessary. Better safe than sorry in my book!
Another pointer would be, there are 2 extra poles included in the package which have flat ends on them. These are not clearly illustrated on the instruction sheet, so took us a little while to work out what they were for! In the end, we discovered that they get strapped on to velcro loops which are along both sides of the main lounge area of the tent. In other words, they lie along the top of both the side doors, and aid the strength of the roof.
Everything else to do with this tent is totally fab! All sewn in, large windows allowing plenty of light, loads of room in bedrooms, plenty storage pockets, 3 doorways, and sky light window which has a curtain on it for night time, a canopy for over one of the doors at the side, and plenty space inside for table, chairs, kitchen equipment etc, which would be great if the weather is not so good and we are stuck indoors a bit more.
I would highly recommend this tent to anyone, especially newby campers! Good luck with your Ebay bidding folks!

Manufacturer's Description
The TORINO is an attractive tunnel tent suitable for up to 6 people and ideal for a family vacation.
Pitching the tent is a child’s play and can be done by one person alone. Simply put the flysheet flat on the ground and fix it with pegs on one side. Slide the poles into the channels and put tension on them via the ring pin system. Now the entire tent can be erected on the side which is not fastened yet. Finally simply fasten the remaining side and use the guy lines for tension adjustment. The sleeping cabins are already pre-assembled.Yet the Torino is very sturdy and offers perfect weather protection. Its free standing tunnel construction due to the inner main poles reduces stress on the tension points for durability. The sleeping cabins are already pre-assembled.
A sewn-in ground sheet and sealed seams guarantee rain water protection. Fitted mosquito netting and screens will keep out all nasty insects. Breathable tent material and various ventilation openings ensure a comfortable indoor climate.
The generous peak height and many windows create an airy atmosphere and give room to move.
The TORINO has a water column of 3.000 mm and will protect against even the nastiest weather. The water column describes the quality and strength of the tent coating: the higher the water column, the more water resistant the coating ( ...and the higher the price). A tent is considered waterproof at 1,200 mm (47.2"), but the difference between this and higher levels becomes obvious as soon as it rains heavily.
Many well thought of details like organizers, panorama roof windows and a fastening fixture for a lantern are proof of this model’s great functionality.
The tent comes in a practical carry bag together with guy ropes, pegs and instructions.
