4 Reviews of the Hood River 8

We bought this tent after we tried to buy a Quebec 8 deluxe and could not find one , so we eventually decided on this one as it was similar. And we as a family of 5 love it for space we even shared it one weekend with some friends of ours and they are a family of four so we did really well we thought . When we laid it out at first we my husband and I thought oh no this is going to be really hard and the size we thought it was far to big , we put the tent up in 45min from start to finish , and it was great we couldn't believe it especially after our previous tent would take us an 1hr and half (eurohike Ullswater).

We agree with previous comments brilliant buy , brilliant tent , now just to get foot print and carpet . Did check as soon as we got it tried it out in back garden first and all bits were there so no probs there . One happy family.

Bought this tent last year used it for the first time in June this year 2011 It stood up to torrential rain no leaks. Nice and light that means a bright roof lets in a lot of light. I was really impressed at how easy it was to put up. We didn't use the extension. They will charge more for the extra space be prepared for this.My only concern is that although the tent has a fully sewn in groundsheet the doors are not zipped in at the bottom and have loops and toggles to connect at the bottom leaving gaps. This is a little draughty and my worry is that not being sealed fully I don't like the idea of anything getting in ie insects etc. After reading a report on this site we bought one. I wonder if the review reading the manufacturing fault was this problem. Otherwise a fantastic tent.

Brought this tent on ebay with canopy and footprint.Had a minor problem with a broken pole {Which was easily fixed) But was easy to pitch about 30 mins with two of us. Never used the large side extension but also should be easy to pitch and would make a great covered area for cooking and eating.

The tent stood up to very heavy rain and apart from a bit of human error (left drawbridge entrance down) the tent itself did not leak at all. Tent was also brilliant in the hot weather and we could open up all the doors and there is good all round ventilation.

The tent is quite heavy but with ease of pitching and good size was all round impressed and would definitely buy this brand again.

Our first large tent, and what can I say. Brilliant, eventually. We had some minor manufacturing issues with the first one we brought, but these were soon sorted out for us at the shop, where they exchanged it. The reason they say to check it before 1st use I suppose.

The tent is very spacious and is easy to put up and take down, the poles go in easily and the whole thing can be assembled in about 20 mins with two of you, or about 40 mins if working on your own. The vents are in the right place and allow a good flow through of air when opened. For the price its a very good buy, we have used it in the Sun and the Rain and its great. The only downside is the weight if you are carrying it any distance on your own, other than that buy one now, but please remember to check it asap.
