This was our first trip away in the Vario, we bought it from Ebay, so we were expecting a few problems. We fixed the two small tears in it. The first night the heavens opened and the waterproofing didn't stand up to it. Luckily for us a lady camping opposite told us of Fabsil, and we were able to cover the tent the following day with the aid of a washing up sponge and a long pole, that night when the rain started again we were waiting for the drip drip sound, but nothing came through. This means for less than £150. We have got a fab tent which is now waterproof.

We originally bought it because we wanted to be able to stand up in the tent, getting a bit too old to be stooping down to crawl in and out of a tent. There is so much light with all the windows, even without the windows open, the material being of a light colour you feel as if the interior is bright and airy. Perfect tent for a family of four. Can't wait to use it again, shame that there is no more school holidays for 6 weeks.

This was one of the best tunnel tents around when I bought it in 2008. I have now had it 3 years and it's coming to the end of its lifespan as it is showing its usage by our family of 4.

The positives for this tent are that it is relatively easy to put up, there is acres of space inside and it is light and airy. The zips and fastenings are fairly robust and are sealed so no water gets in. There are pockets that fasten to the inside and the storage room is ideal for the portaloo and suitcases etc. And the internal poles make it good for hanging light washing to dry and to attach a fluorescent striplight to them. The optional sun canopy is huge and adds another 1.5 metres onto the tent which can be useful especially when wet as you can still store stuff under it without being soaked. It is also good to be able to sit outside the tent without being roasted or blown away by the wind.

The negatives however are quite substantial. The flexipoles are great but they flex too much in the wind that allows the tent to move considerably and to flap about even with the guy ropes tight. This means that all the cooking equipment etc. Has to be moved well away from the side walls otherwise things go flying. This reduces the amount of space inside. The window flaps are not velcroed at the bottom so they flap about a lot which makes the tent very noisy even in light winds. Without a cotton inner tent in the main area, it suffers badly from condensation and I have had big puddles inside. It also gets cold in there very quickly - certainly more so than my old tent with an inner which seemed to retain the heat better and also kept it out during hot days. The bedrooms are not quite long enough to take a camp bed and to zip the pod shut and are not adjustable width ways so it makes it awkward with the kids wanting their own space.

Would probably go for something a bit more rigid next time but this tent has served us well overall.

We always loved our Vario 600 plus until it leaked quite badly on us in the Lakes last year. It is pretty big takes a good 1hr to get the tent up properly. I loved the 2 rooms 1 large living area combo and the closed off pantry area for food storage was fab. The storage pockets went all around the tent and were very useful. Unfortunately condensation was a problem thus ending in leaking. Upgrading to a more reliable tent this year.

This is one big tent. We had a few problems putting the tent up on uneven ground but got there eventually. The size is immense with loads of room to actually live in, plenty of storage space etc. This tent has plenty of positives and only a couple of negatives. The side porch arch poles bent and broke when erecting and the draft from the inner extension can be quite bad quite bad on cool breezy nights. Overall this is a beaut. Anybody know where to get some spares for it from?

Purchased this tent in 2010 after having the vario 400 for a couple of years. We needed a bit more room when we went away for longer trips. Really like this tent. Loads of room when the weather is bad and found there was no problems when battered with the wind and rain. Good addition is the canopy to allow you to cook outside.

We bought this tent in June 2009 after a Spur of the moment decision to camp for May bank holiday in a Halfords tent package deal. How we froze! We really enjoyed camping so after lots of hunting chose the Sunncamp Vario 600 Plus.

We have used it for weekends & whole weeks camping from April - September. After some practice we could get the tent upright & pegged in less than an hour.

We found it to be very stable. It survived very bad winds on Shell Island last July, with Delta pegs. The canopy support poles are a smaller diameter & do flap a lot when windy & are prone to bending. Sunnflair do offer 5 year guarantee but never had the xflex porch pole in stock, so had to accept normal fibreglass poles in the end.

We really loved the space & regularly had 2 inflatable sofas, tables chairs & dog in the living area. The annex is an excellent size, housing our porta loo, trug of shoes & hanging rail for coats & dressing gowns. Extra large bag means it is easy to pack away.

Our biggest bugbear was the main poles snag when inserting or removing, making this a 2 man job. Now we have upgraded to a polycotton, steel poled tent it is really apparent how awkward it was.

Overall fab tent, very sad to see her go.

I have had my vario 600 for 4 yrs now and have never had any problems with it .

I can have it erected in about 25 mins on a good day and 45 mins on a wet and windy day.

I am gutted that they have stopped making this model that I have, with the extra section and the clear roof panels .

These are great for watching the night stars.

And the SIG has never let me down even when we were pitched and we had a 2 inch puddle under the middle off the tent .It was like our own water bed . But not a drop of water got in to the tent .

I will definitely try and find the same tent again.

We purchased this tent last summer and have been really pleased with it. After a lot of research we decided on this tent for the size of living space and also how light it was (as in day light not weight!).

After going in other tents they felt dark and dingy where as this felt very light and spacious. We have two children under 3 and on those wet days - the space is definitely needed and made full use of.

We also purchases the full canopy which gives us a large dry outdoor space - again well worth the money

All in all a fantastic tent.

Having only read up on this tent on the internet and not actually seen one up and tried to buy one second hand we purchased a brand new one in March. We are so pleased with the size of the living and bedroom areas especially the width in the living area. Our two boys have the bedroom for two and we have the bedroom for four. Bedroom for two fits a double air bed only and not two singles. 4 berth bedroom comfortably fits two double air beds or one double and single.

The annexe we have used for cooking in or as a changing room. Plenty of pockets for putting all the bits and pieces away. Very light as lots of windows and we especially like the front windows for looking out. Purchased the footprint and carpet to go with it and pleased with both.

Only gripe would be its not so easy to put up and take down as our other previously owned tunnel tent the campus Indiana 8 and as other reviews have said it is easy. But with any tent this is something you don't know until you purchase and put it up. We have one small leak where the taped seam is not finished off in the annexe. Have only done 8 nights so far and we have had sun, persistent rain and very strong winds and the tent has held up to all.We would recommend.

I agree with everything said about this fantastic tent it is the best tent I have ever owned!

I do have couple of things I would like to point out, which are the only real downside for us,

Firstly in wind the side window shades lift letting in a slight draft.

Secondly said shades are only operable from the outside.

But you cannot have everything can you?
