8 Reviews of the Family Vario 900

I love this tent due to the size, its great for a family holiday, We fitted in it 3 adults 4 kids and a dog!Not so good for a quick weekend away as it takes a while to put up. The bags are big and heavy too so make sure your car can cope! The best thing about the tent is that if there is only a couple of you going for a short amount of time, you can just take the main part and not the pods, this is a fantastic plus for the tent. Good pocket storage and windows. The amount of storms its had to suffer its done well!

This will be our 3rd year with this tent, and it hasn't let us down yet. Oodles of head height space, which as we camp for 1 or 2 weeks at a time with two children are very much appreciated. I'm not so keen on using for one-night weekend stays as it does take 1-2hrs to put up. SIG really appreciated on 2007 camping trip when the site got very water logged. Sleeping areas in the main tent are spacious. We find side pods useful as a drying area and toilet! It is a big tent so I always pick sites with generous plots.
Only reason for a 9 rather than a 10 is that one of the seams on the sky-lights hadn't been sealed properly and leaked on first use. To be fair to Sunncamp though they sent me some additional sealant tape and sealant paste at no cost, which solved the problem - no leaks since, and this tent's weathered some persistent (all day) heavy rain over the last two years.

Absolutely love my tent. Big enough for all the family plus pets, tables, chairs, camping kitchen. If the weather is not guaranteed this tent is ideal. Loads of room. For such a big tent it does well in strong winds and heavy rain. Needs two to put up and takes us about 2 hours but hopefully this will reduce the more practise we get and the less arguing me and the hubby do. Fantastic tent.

A very large, spacious tent. Very flexible living space. Loads of room for table and chairs etc. Great to have some indoor space for kids to play if it's wet. Lots of headroom. Easy to pitch and drop (can be pitched/dropped by one adult alone if not too windy). The sewn-in groundsheet saved us last summer on a waterlogged campsite. Some great features, like wall pockets, a zip hole for your hook-up lead, sun roof. We use one of the side pods as a kitchen area if it is wet. This has the added advantage that you can zip the kitchen area away from meddling children.
One word of warning, you will need to choose sites that offer large, less restricted pitches. The first time we used it, we were crammed in on a very restricted pitch and had to suffer the comments of people going to the shower block (WOW - did you ever see such a big tent, they're taking up a lot of room, why do they need a tent that big? There's only 3 of them etc etc)

We had both the 2006 and 2007 versions. The first tent was not very well made and leaked through a door zip that hadn't been sewn in. The second tent leaked round the doors. The tent itself is huge and comes in two very large and heavy bags. Easy to erect and very spacious but can get extremely hot (possibly due to so many windows making it have a greenhouse effect). Good as you can leave the annexe at home and just use the main body of the tent for a weekend trip. If you like space this could be for you but for us it was just too big and not as waterproof as we would have expected.

Wow I love this tent. We bought this after much trawling the internet and camping shows originally were going to buy outwell nebraska but after attending a show where it leaked saw this and fell in love. It takes the two of us 2 hours to put up completely with all our accessories, carpet, tv settee etc.Etc. The tent is absolutely huge in the living area hubby is 6 6' and still has headroom we have loads of tables and chairs in the main area and still room for more. It is very light and airy with curtains and sun roofs, the bedrooms are very large room for king size 3 layer airbed in 1st double and 3 layer single airbed and wardrobe in 2nd double without the pods, adding these on we can then sleep another 4 adults or 6 kids. This tent is brilliant we have had loads of people stop and ask where we got it due to its huge living area. If you buy a tent this is the one!

We took a lot of time choosing this tent for the seven of us. The living space is nine square metres. The extra annexes are useful and we even managed to hide the trailer in ours last year. There are some great accessories to make it even bigger and you really could go on for ever if you get a pitch big enough. We have just leant ours to a couple of amateur campers and we are confident they will have no problems pitching it

This tent is very spacious with high headspace, my hubby is 6ft tall and tent towered above him, organisers very handy, tent quite easy to put up (only 2 of us to put it up and managed no problem (i am 5ft 2 and 7 stone)the living space is huge and the sewn in ground sheet eliminates any draughts, could not praise this tent any more than I have, I really have found no bad points
