I have built an offroad trailer tent and have two awnings. A 2m x 2m Sunncamp Lodge 200 Motor awning for overnight stops, weekends and long weekends and a 5.1m x 2.9m Westfield Outdoors Easy Air 510 inflatable awning for stays of four five days or longer in one location.
I camp on my own and having been paralysed for a time in 2011 I am physically weak so ease and speed of erection and dismantling are paramount as is weight and the Sunncamp Lodge 200 Motor easily fulfils my requirements.
When first putting the awning up the most obvious thing was the very high build quality with heat sealed seams, heavy duty zips covered in a plastic strip and substantial guyline points on each corner of the awning that give the Lodge 200 Motor the strength and durability to cope with those brisk coastal winds you often get in the Scottish West Highlands.
Add to that big clear picture windows on either side and a sewn-in groundsheet plus the one metre long tunnel that comfortably goes over the tent on my trailer and it makes a good, robust, weatherproof and cosy awning that is ideal for my offroad expeditions into the wilderness of Scotland. And it will certainly be more than capable of surviving the conditions in Iceland and Norway when I take my trailer tent there.
The Lodge 200 Motor is easy for me to put up on my own and I can have the awning erected, pegged out, trimmed and attached to the trailer tent in 15-20 minutes and it only takes ten minutes to take down and pack away so it is ideal for overnight stops. And it actually goes back in the bag it came out of!
I am very pleased and very impressed with this awning and am glad that I brought it and certainly recommend it if you want a small and quick to erect awning for overnight stops or weekends. The only improvements that would make it perfect are an inflatable frame and a big picture window in the front door other than that is great!
The build quality is not just restricted to the Lodge 200 Motor as I also have a Sunncamp Motor Buddy 250 motorhome awning and the same high quality build and materials and well thought out design are evident in this product as well.
