4 Reviews of the Sunrise 400
By: Rachle Reason: I own(ed) one Made in: 2012 Rating:
I recently purchased my sunrise as an ex-display model. I used it for the first time last weekend at a festival and absolutely love it. Easier than I thought to put up, although it did take a bit of adjusting as it was windy. It had a LOT of rain and wind to deal with on the first 2 nights and it was absolutely fine. The porch is amazing, I love the choice of doors - it means you never have to open a door into the wind and rain. 2 of us can fit comfortably in the porch in chairs. It's great that it includes poles to make the doors into awnings, most tents don't. Also this is a really handy feature for cooking in the rain and we just about managed to squeeze 4 of us in the porch with the door extended. The organiser thing is really handy for keeping matches, torch, cooking utensils etc. In a convenient place. The sleeping area is really spacious and the door (yes, another door!) means you can get air in easily on warm mornings and is handy when packing up everything. My only criticism is that the bag it comes in is rubbish - no zip, it's like a stuff sack and has already ripped with minimum force. All in all though I am soo happy with my new tent and can imagine spending a week in it, easily. 10 stars

Fantastic, although I bought it a few years ago we have only just had the opportunity to go away for a few days and we were well impressed. There are two of us and it was easy to put up took approximately 20 minutes. Kept us dry and was roomy and spacious, also is aesthetically pleasing on the eye. On an evening it looked warm and cosy to come home to with the LED lights on.(I felt our tent looked the best on the campsite) For the money you cant go wrong. An ideal first time tent to see if camping is for you without breaking the piggybank. Only regret wish we had used it and started camping years ago!

Just used my Sunrise 400 for the first time. It's a great tent for overnighters/weekends for two people. The bedroom is very spacious and there is plenty of room down either side of a double bed for bags etc (it seemed unusually wide for a 4 man tent which is a real bonus).
The 'living' area was more spacious than I expected too, probably due to the tunnel design. I managed to fit a folding kitchen stand (which I used as a shelving unit without the windshield), a camping table and two chairs in it. It made a great change to be able to actually sit at a table in a 4 man tent (there's not enough room to stand up though, there's a Sunrise 400 plus version which apparently you can stand up in) and it was really cosy with the lamp on at night :) Another plus for this tent are the two windows at the front, complete with curtains, this added a homely feel.
All in all, a cracking little tent and I'm surprised that they have been discontinued by Sunncamp, although they are still available online from different outlets (I paid £49 for mine online and it arrived really quickly). Slight downside is that the groundsheet in the living area is not built-in and so any incremental weather may see the living area floor getting wet. However, it did rain quite heavily during the night and it stayed perfectly dry for us, so all is good. I would recommend this tent, especially for the price that it's now available at, and it's quite a 'looker' too, I noticed several admiring glances ;)

Bought for weekend overnighters. Build quality up to the usual Sunncamp standard. Used it on a number of occasions and cant get over how easy it is to put up. Side door to the bedroom area is sensible when it comes to airing the tent out before packing to go home. Haven't subjected it to wet weather conditions yet so can't comment on leaks etc.
