3 Reviews of the Ultra Quasar

Just buy one!
Quite simply the best tent I have owned. Weight to strength ratio is amazing. Every part oozes quality. I use this tent for hiking, kayak touring and short trips away. 6 mins to put up or takedown. This tent has stood up to everything Mother Nature can through, including 70mph winds in the Cairngorms. I use it in conjunction with a ground sheet protected and a dd tarp to create a living space.
Pricey, but worth every penny. Mine is four years old, used prob ten times a year in some wild locations and is still good as new. If I ever need to replace it, I am sure it will be with another one.

Borrowed one of these from a friend for a weekend. Well impressed with the lightness but durability of the tent. No condensation in the mornings and felt nice and airy too. Easy to erect. Would have been happy to spend more than a weekend using. We had a big rainfall on the first night but no leaking and it felt sturdy during the wind. Ther e was plenty of spare room for all of my kit and room to still stretch out. I didn't need to backpack with this tent but would have been more than happy to do so as it was amazingly lightweight. Would have been very happy if I had purchased this myself

Quite simply the lightest, most sturdy tent I've ever had the pleasure of owning. I'm no material scientist but the stuff they've made this tent out of is amazing; ultra-light and ultra-strong. You can hardly feel the poles when they are in your hand. Titanium tent pegs (standard and heavy duty) and with ripstop everything, the material just defies belief at how much abuse it can take without ripping.
When it’s on your back, weight is everything and I’ll near guarantee that this tent will be lighter than the pack in which it’s carried.
When you’re in it, there’s plenty of room, it’s airy & well ventilated, with zero (and I mean that) condensation. Colour coded poles make the geodesic design a cinch to put up (less than 5 mins with practice) and comes complete with two entrances/exits and small porches.
A trusted companion.
David Adams.

Manufacturer's Description
The Ultra Quasar has always been at the cutting edge of low weight mountain tents and still remains the only choice when a combination of total reliability and low weight are esential.
The same stable, spacious design gains a radically redesigned inner with white fabric and scalloped pole sleeves. The result is improved ventilation, reduced weight and a light airy feel. 8.84mm DAC Featherlite poles reduce weight further to well under 3Kg minimum weight. The new guyline system is stronger and easier to use further increasing poor weather stability.
Low weight, two entrances and an exceptionally stable geodesic design.
