5 Reviews of the Tesco 3 Person Dome

Bargain clearance at £6! Really easy to put up and OK height for kneeling, but can tell it's cheap. It's a good basic tent for easy overnight stays. The shock pole has split but tent is still going with gaffer tape. Wouldn't want it to be for three, but two is fine. The main problem with it is that the zipped entry is pegged way out in front and is really difficult to reach from the inside to close up or open. We attached a bungee to the zip to open it but couldn't reach to fully close up without getting our faces in the grass.

This tent should retail at £29.99,but can be bought cheaper when it is on sale, usually at £19.99,but we were very lucky and got ours for £9.99.

It gives you enough head height to kneel up while dressing,or to sit on a small stool.Though it is advertised as a 3 man, sleeping for 2 is more than adequate but would be a little cosy with 3.

It is simple to pitch by yourself around ten minutes, then another ten for the guy's.There is a small front porch area for wet dirty shoes, and a small amount of other kit. This has a separate piece of groundsheet which has to be pegged into place,my only real gripe, and would be much better if it was attached to the ground sheet of the sleeping pod.The sleeping pod has a bucket type ground sheet, which will allow for all in one pitching, otherwise it is flysheet first. The top of the tent has a permanent vent which is covered by a piece of fly sheet that attaches to webbing sewn onto the main body of the tent, the tent poles pass through the sleeves and these loops to hold them taught.

For a bargain tent all we found it very easy to pitch, leak free and sturdy. This tent overall is ideal for backpackers that want a slightly larger tent, for one or two night stop overs or for a second tent for letting children sleep in.Overall we found this tent is very reasonable value for money.

I own a large 9 man tent but as I was going away with just the two of us I decided to purchase a smaller tent just for a few days use. I found this tent by accident while doing some food shopping and thought 'why not'. At £15 if its no good I'll give it to the children to play with in the garden.

I was not disappointed. It is simple to put up, 15 min max, start to finish. We were camping in the Black Mountains and experienced heavy weather on one night. The tent flexed a little but did not let in a single drop of the quite considerable rain.

A couple of draw backs. I'm 6ft and on a blow up mattress both my feet and head touch the inner tent. Would probably be ok if I was on a thin bed role. Solved the problem by laying diagonally. The other issue is that the porch section doesn't zip closed and still allow room for anything other than a pair of walking boots.

These are minor issues and not ones that I am going to complain about at this price.

For a cheap, simple tent - this was fantastic.

Not the most stylish tent but great value for money (bought mine when Tesco were dropping the prices to clear the stock). Having no expectations I put it up in the garden and waited for rain and leaks. The rain came but not the leaks.

Like all 3 person tents its good for 2 but the storage area is very limited.

It goes up easily but like most tents its hard to get them back in the bag ( we use a large Tesco re-usable bag for ours, far easier than the thing it came in).

Not too sure its long enough, especially if you sleep on a deep pump up bed but for a 5'11' person on a sleeping mat its OK.

Will definitely look at other cheap tents in the supermarkets next year, this was a great buy.

Great tent for short breaks at the weekend.

Excellent value for money at £14.99.

The tent is very easy to setup only having two set's of elasticated poles to thread through the flysheet this took about 10 mins to setup and a further 10 mins to fit the inner ground sheet/sleeping area and peg down the tent.

The tent has a small porch area with enough room to store a cool box and a few other small items. The tent is sold as a 3 man tent and will sleep 3 but we used it as a 2 man tent which will give you plenty of room to sleep comfortable and allows a for a small area to store personal items.

It has carry bag for storage and would be ideal to use for backpacking. I would recommend this tent to any one camping for the first time.
