1 Reviews of the Minibus 3

By: Itinerant-Potters  Reason: I own(ed) one  Made in: 2010   Rating:

We are a family of five & use two of these tents, we pitch them facing each other with a tarp across the intervening space.

2 Adults comfortably in one 3 children in the other.

We have camped with this set up for 3 weeks no problem.

These tents are very easy to put up & take down five minutes or so.

They are very warm and the ventilation is excellent.

After zipping at night with a temp outside temp of 7 degrees C within 90 minutes inside temp will settle around 12-14 degrees C.

Each door has two doors, one fly coloured the other no-see-um mesh. Both have glow in the dark zip tags.

The first time we used these we had two weeks of steady & torrential rain with no leaks.

There are two vestibules, mirror images of each other and plenty big enough to fit atleast four adult sized back packs + odds & sods, no problem.

Shop around if your looking at getting one of these new, as I paid £199 each and have seen them for £189, while some places had them still listed at £389.

The footprints for this tent are like hen's teeth.(If you see any for sale drop me a line)

If you spot one they should be around £30.

9 out of 10 because there's always room for improvement.

Manufacturer's Description

The North Face Minibus tent for 3 makes it easy to bring the creature comforts of home to the backcountry. This 3-season tent has great interior space and thoughtful livability features.

Stable 3-season shelter features 2 doors, 2 vestibules and a comprehensive color-coded design that speeds setup

Several well-designed technical elements improve the simplicity of pitching and help the tent remain taut and adjustable during use

Color-coded DAC Featherlite® NSL poles and webbing clips match up for easy pitching; these poles use an anodization process that lessens environmental impact

Join the canopy and fly in 1 easy click with specially designed clips

DAC Jake's Feet at tent floor corners keep the canopy taut and the structure sound, regardless of weather

H-Clips at pole crossings concentrate fabric tension at the strongest points in the tent's architecture and reduce weight

C-Clips create significantly greater interior volume while maintaining a campsite-friendly footprint size

Twist-clips make pitching and disassembly easy and fast, and save weight

Superlight siliconized nylon rainfly material is rugged and weatherproof; fully taped bathtub floor

2 large vestibules match up with 2 large D-shaped doors; clever stash pockets in the vestibules can be accessed from inside or outside the tent

Large clear end window in vestibule allows weather watching

High-low ventilation design harnesses convection and crossflow to help expel moisture vapor and prevent interior condensation

Convenient overhead pockets stow headlamps and fragile items; abundant gear loops allow you to hang items from ceiling

Reflective guyline loops, guylines and glow-in-the-dark zipper pulls make life easier at night

The North Face MInibus 3 includes compression stuff sack, stakes and guyline
