I bought this from Cotswold Outdoor for my first camping trip in over 25 years. It was on offer at Ł50, down from Ł65, so seems to be excellent value for money.

I found it to be very easy to pitch, take down and pack away. There was plenty of room for me and all my kit and it felt very stable and secure. I was really impressed with the quality of the materials despite the low price.

There was heavy rain on both days of my first use of the tent and it seemed to cope well with the bad weather, staying totally dry inside.

I'm looking forward to using it again soon.

I bought one of these for my eldest and her friend to sleep in on our last camping trip with my airbeam 800but that's another story! It was wet and windy a lot of the weekend but the alpha 250 was superb, it was up in no time and kept them dry and warm due to the double skin, it is just what it is supposed to be, a good 2 man tent, it packs up easily into a small bag also the 2011 model has 3000hh which is an improvement on last years offering, a good buy

I bought a Vango alpha 250 for Ł29.99 at Camperland October 2010 to use only for cycling trips and camping out. Weight 3.60kg. Nice features & colours. 2 man tent. Plenty of room for one & all my pannier bags and gear. (room for 2 comfortable leaving camping gear in porch).

Good points. 10 mins + to erect. Bedroom first 2 x longer poles crossover & peg down 4 corners into ring and pin : then flysheet. Install shorter pole across front of door as a hoop insert into ring and pin. Then 4 x velcro to inner crosspoles & and peg out porch front flap ground sheet, pegdown all guyropes.

I have tried & tested the tent out in the garden a number of times for practice and slept out a couple of times in reasonable weather but cold at night 3c / 5c found tent ok. I cant wait to try it out on a campsite in cold, wet & windy conditions it should be fine. After all Vango tents are well made. I gave it 9/10 because I'm not convinced about ring & pin.
