4 Reviews of the Atlas 300
By: Mazzer1 Reason: I own(ed) one Made in: 2014 Rating:
These are now discontinued but stocks are available at a very good price.
It's a sturdy tent for its weight and stands up to wind and rain well. Plenty of room for 2 adults and gear, but packs down well and actually goes back into the original bag :-) There's plenty of ventilation.
I agree about packing extra pegs, also I would pack a small tarp to create a porch although as there is a choice of 2 doors, you shouldn't get the usual 'sloping door' problem of rain coming in the entrance.

Just to add to my review of the Atlas 200, I used this tent in conjunction with a Gelert Universal Mini Canopy (paid £26.98) in the worst the weather threw at us over New Year 2014. The Gelert Mini Canopy only has loops for pegging down and no elastics so I thought it would rip to shreds but it didn't. Held up extremely well and the rainwater just ran off it. The combination meant the inside of the tent was very snug and dry, and no condensation whatsoever.

I have the Atlas 200. I bought it as an 'in between tent' as I already have a summer pop up tent and a severe weather tent. I would echo everything the reviewer said about the 300. The 200 is ideal for one person, but would accommodate 2 (cosily!) with room for gear. Very easy to pitch single handed, but I would recommend taking 4 extra pegs for the fly sheet to keep it away from the inner. The pack supplies 10 pegs which means the fly sheet corners would have to use the same peg as the inner. I think I paid about £56. I am very happy with my purchase.

Bought this on a recommendation from a friend, for use mainly on a motorcycle.
Excellent choice I reckon! Small pack size, 41x18x18 cm, lightweight around 4kg,quick and easy to pitch and plenty of room for 2 with all our gear. Having 2 porch areas definitely helps with the storage, we used one for stuff, and the other as our door, with boots and shoes in. Both staying dry, but a small ground sheet will come with us next time.
It's got a decent hight, close to 1 1/2 metres, and seems to be of very good quality, no leaks in some very heavy constant rain, and no condensation due to good ventilation. Two zipped meshed vents in the doors, and 2 more in the roof.
I believe this is now delisted, but seem to be available in quite a few places, and can be found for under £40,which I reckon is an absolute bargain, so grab one while you can!
Our local cub group just bought 3 after seeing ours, so can't be too bad at all!
