Not great for dog owners
I've had this tent for a couple of years and on the whole it's a very good tent. However, there are a couple of niggles which stop me giving it top marks.
We are camping with two small and very lively dogs, who need to be contained to stop them wandering around the campsite. Unfortunately the tent isn't good at this for the following reasons.
The main front door zip doesn't extend along the bottom edge, thus the dogs can escape unless the fly screen is also closed
There is no fly screen on the side door
The zips on the fly screen and bedroom doors are all single ended and all close from top to bottom only. If they could be zipped up from bottom to top it would be possible to create a barrier to keep the dogs in, which could be stepped over.
If you are planning to take your pooch camping you may want to bear these factors in mind.
Other than the above, my only other issue is that a second side door on the other side (with a fly screen please) would give more options with pitching.

We have this tent. It is very spacious and you can stand up in it. The sewn in ground sheet is excellent. The canopy on the front is a great bonus, especially if you want to sit outside and it is raining or a little chilly at night. You can open the 'curtains' to let light in but don't have to open fully if you still want a little privacy. The sleeping part is quite large and we fit 3 large camp beds in it, we could probably fit more in if I wasn't such a princess!
The only issue we have is that the zip at the front can be tricky to close as it feels like it will rip(hasn't yet, we've used it loads). We have tried putting the tent up zipped up and other variations, but it always happens. The zip also catches quite easily on the 'flappy' bit that goes over the top.
Overall a good solid tent that served us well.

Just purchased this 4 weeks ago and have so far used it twice and we love it. Very spacious, easy to put up and the front canopy is brilliant especially in rain as keeps stuff dry.
Lovely large bedroom which we don't put up the divider as its only myself and hubby so we put our raised bed in middle.
Not as dark as we thought it would be in the darken 'lights out' bedroom still quite light in morning when sun shines so I am going to get a light weight darken fabric to throw over inside to see if that helps without blocking back ventilation as need not to create condensation. (we used to have years ago the black and green Vango and the bedroom was very dark in that one, so disappointed with this herbal colour).
I would also of like to of had a fly screen on side door seems daft to have one on front but not side door so again I am going to get some netting to clip on when we open it up for ventilation.
Would of preferred to of had the front door to of zipped all way round like the fly screen does as we used to have an Outwell Rockwell 3 and that zipped all way round but this doesn't so I have added some more velcro in the middle to help keep it closed more.
One thing we did notice when it rained is the toggles over where the side door is seemed to soak in the rain and slowly dripped.(don't know if anyone else has had this issue) we was baffled why it did it only there so rather than take tent back just for that we have since sprayed it with waterproof tent spray and hopefully thats solved it. Not rain since so don't know as yet.
All in all its a great tent but just the niggles I have mentioned but I have used my own initiative to improve it myself :-)

This is a fabulous tent for family of 6. Great size of sleeping area, we have a king size, double and single airbed in it. Great living area. And porch is great to set up kitchen area. A great purchase for a family. I'd suggest a ground sheet for the porch area though. Other than that it's great :)

We love our Vango Avington very spacious for our family of 2 adults and 2 small children. Very easy to put up, nice clear windows and large porch area. Just don't understand why side door doesn't have a fly sheet like the main door. Also the bedroom divider is a little flimsy, we don't use this due to age of kids. We got it for a very good price so overall happy with our purchase, is yet to be tested in wind and rain - lucky us!. And also don't know if it's just us but even with an oversized bag - still struggle to pack it away!

I've had a few tents over the last couple of years, but I've been searching for the 'perfect' tent for me, my children and dog, and I've pretty much got it with this tent. Its spacious enough for the four of us (plus medium size dog). I bought it with the footprint, carpet and side extension, but haven't used the extension yet, as there was enough room with the tent and front porch area for our needs for the few days we used it.
The second time we used this tent, it was extremely windy, and although it got battered about during the night, it felt perfectly safe and secure, especially with the added bonus of the tension straps inside.
I did feel that the poles were being bent to their capacity at times (a bit of creaking and groaning going on - not me, the poles), but with some manoeuvring, I managed to get them in place.
Overall, a good, spacious family tent that should stand the test of time.

This tent was everything we were looking for as a family. It has a large bedroom which accommodates 6 and has a divider to separate it into 2 rooms. Our children are young and we didn't want them in separate pods at the opposite end of the tent to ourselves! The living space is huge and also has a porch. Fairly easy to put up when you know how. The instructions provided are really not clear, however we looked at a video on you tube made by Vango and it all made sense!
