1 Reviews of the Calder 400

By: Born Camper  Reason: I own(ed) one  Made in: 2015   Rating:

Simply the best tent we have ever owned! We loved our last tent, but the Calder 400 is just so much better.

Highlights:

1. The awning - As well as offering shade on unexpectedly sunny days, the pre-attached awning means that on more usual wet mornings, instead of unzipping the tent and having rain dribble straight into the living area, you can unzip dryly, as the awning offers protection from all the elements.

2. The height - our last tent was a tunnel tent, too, but this one, even with a similar footprint, is significantly taller. It feels, as a result, really spacious and airy, as well as being better for anyone with dodgy backs.

3. Being fully sewn-in - This was the main reason we chose the tent. Having had a dreadful week with our previous tent on a campsite plagued with feral cats that crawled into tents at night scavenging for food, it is a huge relief to know that I will never again have to scare wildlife out of our living area.

4. Design - from the pegging system (with really sturdy poles, v-pegs and pin pegs) to the zips, flaps and internal pockets, the tent seems to have been designed for someone who has actually thought everything through. It's simply a delight.
