2 Reviews of the Da Vinci 400

WE took this tent to Download this year and after the first afternoon of torential rain were a bit worried but this tent was wonderful. No condensation in the morning, no leaking at all. We have no worries about taking it to our next festival later this summer. The only downside the the tent is that it is rather heavy so a trolley is needed unless you are parking next to your tent pitch. There were only 2 of us so plenty of room for the 2 blow up mattresses. The large living area was great and wonderful to be able to stand up to get dressed rather than having to be a contortionist in a smaller tent.

Unlike previous tents we have used it is very easy to get back into the bag after use.

We got this tent after viewing it at our local Decathlon, it looked the right size and felt well made. It looks like its a Decathlon exclusive.

There are some great features that don't appear on many tents at this price (£160 in store) that sold it to use. The door canopy is great for the rain and the ventilation is well thought out. Add in the trusted brand and it feels like a lot for your money.

We have used this tent for two night so far, with a 4 hour thunder storm and 12 hours of rain endured on the first night, with more on the second and the tent suffered from one or two drops of ingress in that time. They where possibly caused by the way we had pitched, which allowed water to accumulate on top of the door canopy and wick through the zip. We need to try on slightly flatter ground. We also had a number of large trees next to us which allowed water to run off them almost like a tap for a few hours and the tent just bounced it all off.

However the door canopy worked well in entering and exiting and the vents once open did their job in a very wet and hot environment.

Pitching is simple, with three poles for the main section and a small one for the canopy, easy to use guy ropes and plenty of peg down points.

The bedroom pod was a good size for a double and single blowup bed.

Taking it down was easy too. Overall we are very pleased.

We would have lied to see a lantern point in the bedroom and if you where taller you may find the headroom a bit small, but we are 5'10 and 5'4 so no problems here.
