1 Reviews of the Dunkeld 500
By: Stuee Reason: I own(ed) one Made in: 2015 Rating:
Our third Vango tent but bought new at £170.
Great quality tent and groundsheet but unfortunately, I have to agree with other Vango reviewers' comments about the poles.
One split on first outing and cord has snapped on another. It all still works but needs taping and repair. Thankfully there are plenty of repair kits available on-line
I love the space inside and and the clear windows. Its also very well sewn together giving one confidence in our British summer's stormy weather against leaks or collapse.
Ideal size for a couple and perhaps a dog or small child but not really a full 5 berth.
Nice full height standing space and plenty of room in porch for a table and 2 chairs and cooking in covered area outside. This also keeps drips off the main door and acts as a vestibule area for boots etc.
I should really mark it a seven for the pole issue but its still very usable and otherwise great.

Manufacturer's Description
The Vango Dunkeld 500 is a spacious tunnel tent with a large porch and extended front canopy, ideal for when you need a bit of extra space for storage or somewhere to take shelter when he weather turns bad. All in one pitching (you can pitch the flysheet with the inner already hanging) means you can pitch the Vango Dunkeld in no time at all. Vango's Tension Band System (TBS II) adds to the tents stability by creating a bracing system to reduce the amount of pole flex in side winds. Other features of the Dunkeld 500 include colour coded poles, large Diamond Clear PVC windows, 'Lights Out' inner bedrooms for reduced morning light, a Linked-in groundsheet that provides the benefits of a sewn-in groundsheet while also being able to roll it back (please note the groundsheet is not sewn-in) and an oversized carry bag to make packing the tent away easier. Protex 4000mm Fabric 70D Protex Polyester is durable and has a hydrostatic head waterproofing rating of 4000mm. PowerFlex Fibreglass Poles PowerFlex poles are made using the highest possible grade of fibreglass. The steel ferrules and tips are finished to give a smooth and snag free travel through the pole sleeves, meaning you can get your tent up quickly and hassle free. The pole sections are'shock-corded' for ease of pitching.
