2 Reviews of the Eden V 400 Polycotton Airbeam
By: Tim Wood Reason: I own(ed) one Made in: 2014 Rating:
Largely I agree with the previous review. It is a very heavy tent and large when packed. I would recommend asking to see the packed tent before purchasing. I didn't and was a little shocked when this huge bag was trolled round. Haven't noticed the back bent being cold or drafty yet. We have had a damp patch in the front top corner near the airbeam but there was a lot of rain. All in all really like the snug feel of the polycotton, quiet and not at all flappy. We haven't found the carpet to be a problem and have managed to get everything but the pump back in the tent.

Acquired this Vango Eden V400 (Polycotton)the day it was released. I had a difficult choice between the Vango Eden V 400 or the Outwell Concorde M in Polycotton and to be honest the thing that swung it was the over door canopy so we can have the front door open in the rain. Well we arrived at a nice quite site on the east coast. Loading and un loading from the car was a bit tricky due to the weight of 44kg! Heavy tent indeed. We also acquired the footprint and carpet. So footprint was laid out and tent rolled out and pegged at the 4 corners as advised. Now the day we put this up was a none windy day. Pumping up was nice and easy thou you defiantly need 2 people. 1 person to pump and the other to guide the Air tubes into place. This was completed in less than 5min. ALL guide lines need to be pegged to help maintain the stability of this tent. Though putting tent up was easy. Issues I have with tent. Only 2 doors, the other is a fixed panel. This would have been nice to have been a door as well. Rear high level bedroom vent cannot be zipped closed like on the Outwell and it blowed a gail through the nt and made for a chilly sleep. Next day we tried to stick this vent closed without much success, so we will sow a zip on here as we go camping in chilly weather. The bedrooms are plenty big enough and so is the living area and I must say we could not fault at all. The sown in ground sheet is superb and far superior to ALL other tent brands we have looked at. Front door can be a bit fiddly to roll up and down as its quite heavy and the separate insect net kept getting in the way and is none removable.
Packing away. Well lets say we struggled! and ended up rolling around the campsite with laughter at our amazement how they fitted the tent and all the extras into the bag! we ended up getting the tend in the bag but nothing else! so we will purchase a separate bag for Canopy poles. Pegs. Pump. Footprint.
The Vango carpet is RUBBISH! DO NOT purchase. It lays lose on the floor of the tent and is a right trip hazard. No Velcro to stick down and also after 2 days camping the black backing had a big rip so will be going back for a £60 refund.
Overall a nice tent and comfortable and looks superb. And yes I would purchase again
Only issues were:
Only 2 doors
None closing high level bedroom vent (frustrating in chilly windy weather)
Not enough hanging points for lights or hangers
Vango Carpet poor quality
Fiddly front door to open and close
