4 Reviews of the Evoque 400 Airbeam
By: Davecole Reason: I own(ed) one Made in: 2013 Rating:
I've used this tent for 3 years, in that time I've got through 7 new airbeams. There seems there was a major problem with the area where the valve is attached to the beam, this starts to crack and leak within months of being installed. So far we have had two breaks ruined through this problem.
I've now started to look at how to repair these using techniques used for inflatable sail boards and using a wet suit adhesive. This appears, at least for now, to be working.
I see that Vango have now changed the valve mechanism for their newer tents but that doesn't help me with a tent that is only three years old and has cost around £1000 including the replacement beams.

Absolutely amazing! Went up with ease after pegging out the four corners. When fully pitched very sturdy, lots of space, bedroom divider just unzipped to leave one large bedroom! Within an hour of arriving on site in france we were all set up drinking beer/wine. It does come in a large bag but it on wheels so easy to move. Only shame is Vango appear to have stopped making this 4 berth version, I highly recommend it.

This is our first family tent and it is great. It is big when packed away but easy and quick to assemble, spacious for two adults, 2 children and dog. This year we have also bought the extension which zips on easily and has two beams. This part isn't as well made as the tent but adds useful space.

We took a 6 week holiday touring through France, Italy, Austria, Germany and Amsterdam. The tent stood up to all weathers in fantastic & unrivalled manner.
Some stormy nights kept us awake, but the tent remained rock steady.
Inflatable beams were a sheer delight. Don't over inflate past 7 PSI is the golden rule.
Overall opinion, it's the best tent we have ever owned, in over 25 years.
