3 Reviews of the Farnham 500

We bought the Vango Farnham 500 as a bit of a stop-gap to get us through this season whilst we get back into camping and decide which inflatable tent we want to go with, longer term. What a pleasant surprise we have had with it! Very easy to pitch, no loose flappy bits for the wind to play with, very stable on a wet, blustery day, and no leaks! It is a 5 berth tent but we bought it for the 2 of us and a dog and the bedroom is a perfect size to fit in 2 campbeds and the large dog bed without too much of a squeeze. There's a handy lantern hook in the bedroom along with plenty of 'clutter pockets' down each side for your bits and pieces. The living area easy fitted our table and chairs and blow up sofa with plenty of room left for a kitchen stand. The windows are covered with roll-down curtains which means they can be opened half way or fully as required and they are surprisingly clear to look through! My only criticism would be that the side door does not have a fly screen, and the main front door could do with the fly screen and main door attaching together as it's a bit of a pain to have to undo 2 doors when coming in or out of the tent. All in all though, we're DELIGHTED with this tent and we may well not bother upgrading as yet, because the Farnham 500 fulfils our needs perfectly.

We had been looking at other Vango tents in a local camping superstore and had been let down when placing an order so decided to look online for a deal. We found this tent on amazon and paid £189.95, far cheaper than what we would of paid for a smaller tent from the camping store. Used the tent for two trips in 2016 first time my wife and kids have camped. The tent is a great size for a family of four and will take two double airbeds easily. The goundsheet is a sewn in bathtub type so once the doors are closed no bugs can get in. The main living area is spacious we had our picnic table in here on an evening and still plenty space around it. The extended canopy is great for cooking beneath with the addition of a windbreak. Not tried the tent in wet conditions as we were lucky not to have any rain during our trips but am sure it will cope well as most Vango tents do.

This is a fantastic family tunnel tent. It is exactly the same as Avington 500,but Farnham is exclusive for Amazon. Bought on Amazon for £220 instead of the RRP £340 which is the price on the official website. The tent itself is very spacious ( you can easily fit 2 double mats in the sleeping area with some space left. Ideal for 4 people, 5 would be bit of a squeeze. The living area is also fantastic size, big enought for camping furniture, table and some cooking bits and bobs etc. The front canopy is a very good size,it will provide a shelter from sun or light rain. The size is 5.5 x 3.2m (sleeping area is 3m) Overall very happy with the tent, fantastic for family of 4.
