Absolutely love this tent, not because it has more than enough headroom/width, massive sleeping area, great compact living area with pockets and spaces for all your trinkets etc, but because it's a dream to put up (8/9 mins) no struggling with poles,3/4 pumps and it's up! and that includes pegging out time.Stick on a front canopy from a Vango 400 infinity and you are away with the fairies.

Just spent 7 days at The War And Peace show 2014 had no problems even in a electrical storm ( see: you tube : war and peace 2014 strange cloud)No condensation or build up of vapours etc anywhere and cleaned a treat.

Best part is I bought the whole package for Ł100.00 at GO OUTDOORS Milton keynes as a ex display model and they even threw in a new pump as well! ( tip : before you buy anything check out as many web sites as possible find the cheapest and GO OUTDOORS will match it and give you 10% off, result).

Got one of these for weekends and overnight stopovers etc. Our tent for longer trips is a Monty 600 but this is a pain to put up for one or two nights. While not as quick to put up as a popup (find me a popup that sleeps 4 in comfort and that a six footer can stand up in with ease), this tent does go up remarkably quickly (I reckon I could do it in under 5 minutes if pushed). I've now pitched and de-pitched this tent 5 times and find it so easy compared to a pole tent.

The tent, as I say, sleeps 4 in comfort, I.E. All of us on 750mm wide air beds and offers a small porch for bags, cool box, shoes, etc.

I've heard many stories about water ingress with airbeam tents, but I camped out in the recent howler of a bank holiday weekend and despite the often torrential rain suffered no such problem.

The only real downside to this tent is that the ground sheet seems a bit unsubstantial, as a result I'm using a footprint (the one from the Vango Zeal 500 fits nicely), which adds to the pitching time and thereby defeats the object in some respect. Others have complained about the single travel zip on the inner tent door, but we just leave this open at the bottom, so it's easy enough to get out in the night if you need to.

Vango Flux 500 Awning:

OK, there isn't one, but I found that the front awning to the Infinity 400 fits the Flux 500 very nicely indeed and so I picked one of these up for Ł125 from the Camping & Kite Centre, albeit an older model. This makes for a really useful weekend rig for the family of 4, which pitches with ease in about 15 minutes and offers a good sized living area.

All in all if you're looking for a comfortable 4 sleeper for overnighters, festivals etc, you could do a whole lot worse than the Flux 500. With the Infinity 400 awning fitted it's a perfect weekend (or longer) family tent. As with any tent it's worth shopping around on line as you can get one for Ł250 or less (we paid Ł225 from Decathlon as an end of line).

Bought one of these just for short trips away and it's perfect in size for the three of us - a gem of a little tent and our first Airbeam.

Our 77cm wide camp beds fit in the bedroom pod nicely spaced and it's not too cramped (see photos). There is a small porch area just big enough for storing things but if we wanted extra living space in the day then we could stack our camp beds to one side and use the bedroom pod. The 1.8m height means you can stand up in the tent. The tent feels far roomier inside than it looks from the outside.

We are impressed at how very quick and easy it is to put the tent up and also pack away if the correct folding technique is used. It only takes one person to put this tent up which is another bonus.

I agree with a previous review in that it would be nice if there was a front canopy available for this tent but we are experimenting with a tarp to make one. Also, the bedroom pod zipper run starts/ends on one side of the bedroom pod so a bit tricky for the person sleeping on the opposite side to reach if they have to step over another bed.

We have only camped one weekend so far and the weather stayed fine so haven't tested it in the rain/wind yet. The quality of the tent appears good though.

Given how easy the tent is to put up and take down we can see ourselves using it a lot for short trips - we're really pleased with it so far.

We owned our flux 500 for about 8 months and only sold her as we got a great deal on our eternity 600

This little airbeam is a fantastic little weekend tent and couldn't fault it in any way plenty of space in the bedroom pod for 2 adults and a daft Staffordshire bull terrier as in one of my photos

We had the 3 of us plus clothing holdall in the sleeping area and 2 camp chairs and fridge in the little porch.

Couldn't possibly see how it would cope with 4 people let alone the 5 people this tent is marketed for as being a 5 berth tent.

All in all a great tent would recommend it highly

My partner and I are seasoned campers and we absolutely love our Flux 500. We actually went looking for a smaller tent for just me and my partner to use but came across this Vango Airbeam Flux 500 at a discounted price and it was last years model. As I have 2 children who we were likely to take camping sometime soon we'd need something bigger eventually anyway, so we decided it was too good an offer to pass on and we got it.

We have used the tent twice so far this season and it goes up like a dream - we had it up in less than 5 minutes. And coming down is just as quick - we find rolling it twice means you can get it back in the bag no problem!

The first time we used it there was just myself and my partner so there was loads of room to spread out, but even the second time when there was us plus 3 kids under 13 we found it wasn't too cramped. We did only have the stuff we needed in the tent though and kept everything else in the car, which helped keep things in order.

The only thing we have thought of that would improve the Flux 500 was if they made an extension for it. While we were away with the children we were very lucky with the weather so we could sit out to cook/eat. Had this not been the case we would of struggled.

We are going to buy a Vango Family Shelter (even though it won't match our red tent) so that we can extend the porch area and have somewhere in the future to cook etc should the weather not be as desirable.

All in all though an excellent spacious tent without the faff (and arguments) that the larger poled tents can cause.

As a retired, overweight and fairly sedentary lady I was looking for a tent that I could manage by myself.

Plenty of space was important and good headroom, because at my age I'm not crawling around in something that is only waist height!

The tent goes up in no time. All that is needed is to peg out the four corners and then pump up the two beams. After that it is very easily finished by pegging around the sides and the guys.

I managed unaided in about 15 minutes.

Inside there is lots of room for a self inflating air bed along with the electric cool box and all the bits and pieces that an ex-motorhomer expects.

Packing the tent away is as simply as pitching it, the only problem being that it will never again pack neatly into it's bag, but I'm told that is normal for most tents. As I prefer to keep it spread out for airing anyway that doesn't matter to me.

A lot of other campers have asked about the possibility of a puncture, but so far it looks very unlikely. The whole thing is put together beautifully and although I am no expert I think that it is an excellent tent.
