This is a top class tent, took it to France on a motorbike last year, the bedroom is big enough for 2 air beds, 2 panniers and all the kit that 2 adults take on a bike for a week, its tall enough for me to put my leathers on and im 6 foot 2in. The bathtub ground sheet is brilliant at keeping you dry and draught free even in heavy rain, the front porch area is more than enough for 2 adults to sit on chairs and stretch your legs out, it takes 10-15 mins to erect.

There is a couple of niggles it could do with a small canopy or cover over the entrance as the rain runs in when you open it and the door zip feels like its going to come apart as its so tight zipping it down, but pulling the material together as you zip it stops that. A very good tent well made and easy to use.

Fantastic tent for 2 tall adults, and the best we have owned so far. We love that it comes all in one piece, inner tent is attached, and a sewn in groundsheet ensures very little draught from ground level. We bought the tent carpet and canopy too, which I understand has a closable door at the front of more recent versions. This makes loads of extra space, masses of living space for 2 and it stands up brilliantly to wind and rain.

Only a couple of minor things stopped me giving it 10 stars; bottom of the main door would benefit from Velcro closing rather than a single toggle in the middle, and despite careful pitching, thin fabric on the inner tent front section has resulted in the zip coming away.

Even so, I think it would take something very special for us to buy a different tent next time.

I have had years of use so far, stood up to extremes of weather, good quality for money, easy to erect, zips and seams in good order, ground sheet still good, lost a few poles but replacements readily available and cheap. I have had to reproof outer tent once. I would buy another one but no need because this one is still performing well.

This tent is great, good in the wind and rain. Didn't get enough pegs with it but simply bought more. I don't think it is big enough for more than two in the sleeping area, a double air bed and clothes bags is enough space. I put down a picnic blanket in the living area as I can take it out to clean and shake dirty off as the ground sheet is stuck in. Is good how I can take out the sleeping area and have as a large living area too. Very good overall

Great tent as regards pitching, really quick and no messing, we were able to pitch in under fifteen minutes. Only down side I found was that it suffers pretty badly from condensation so may be worth taking a small towel in case of this. Well made and pretty comfortable. Head height is about 5ft which was ok for wife but I had to bend a little but no great problem. Would only use for two and the bedroom would then be a great size. Overall a pretty good weekend tent.

Fantastic tent, bought from Ebay ( one former owner who used it once then lost the camping bug )

Used this tent for the first time this June (2013) and did it rain and rain and rain. But this tent was quick to pitch ( approx 10 mins single handed )and stood up to gale force winds and torrential rain. Easy to pack away also ( 10 mins single handed )

Plenty of space inside and able to stand up to get dressed in ( always a positive )

I have owned ,and used , a number of tents over the years and this one is up there as the best and most practical for a couple or maybe three, but four would be pushing it on space.

Would well recommend.

We are very pleased with the performance of this tent. It is easy to put up and stands up well to poor weather. Inside it is cosy and there is ample room for two of us to spread ourselves and our gear about. The only problem we have had concerns the pole which goes in the small canopy above the door. We found that it was too long for the material and stretched the fabric so much that the stitching began to give way - maybe we were given one for a bigger model. We cut the pole down a bit and now there are no problems. We love the different pockets for storage and the sense of space and light in the tent.

I bought this tent for quick weekend breaks away with my 2 children (hubby not a camping fan!), and love it! It ticks almost all of the boxes for me, with a sig, insect screens to both doors, lots of windows with the large side one having zips so you can choose how far you want to open it, good ventilation, electric cable access point, lantern hanging points in bedroom and living area, tension band system (fully put to test last weekend!), guy tidies, etc. The tent generally just feels well made with good quality materials. It pitched beautifully and quickly. Bedroom was a good size for 3 of us on air mattresses. Living area more than adequate. We had lots of heavy rain and wind with gusts of up to 40 m.P.H over the weekend, and the tent stood up to it all without a problem. No draught from front or side doors as 2012 model now has velcro sewn on to the bottom of the doors and so once zipped down and velcro closed everything stays in place. The tent felt very stable and I felt confident in it going to sleep at night.

Only thing I would now like for this tent (if it were available) is a canopy or porch for the front.

Really am ever so pleased with this tent, and looking forward to many more trips away in it.

After searching for a smaller tent for just me, I remembered that the Icarus 600 we had was one of my favourite tents, and after taking a look at the 300, decide that the 400 was the one for me. I was swung in this direction also by the fact that they had increased the height in 2012 meaning that you could stand up in it.Well.You can but only just. I got a good deal and managed to get the tent new for £140. I also bought the groundsheet and carpet.Sadly no porch is available which means you have to make alternative arrangements if cooking outside and it's raining.

The tent was very tightly packed into it's bag and I had little hope of getting it back in later.

To start with, putting it up was amazingly simple. I was worried as I'd never solo pitched before, yet I had the tent up in 15 mins and fully pegged out after another 15 mins. I was rather impressed with myself I have to say.

Both doors have fly meshes, there is a low vent on the side opposite the door meaning that fresh air easily gets into the tent and a large window that lets in lots of light.

Lots of clips for the bedroom meant it was held securely in place. With the divider up the bedrooms are fairly small, but you could just about get four people (two in each one). There are pockets sewn into each bedroom inner, and 4 more pockets outside the bedrooms. Very handy for putting phones, wallets and keys in.

A fair amount of wind and rain on one night but there was very little movement in the tent. I awoke to find a puddle of water in the corner near the door though. It had stopped raining by this point so I wasn't able to see where the water had come in so a bit of further investigation is needed.

I left the bedroom in when striking the tent as I didn't see the need to remove it. In the same way as putting the tent up, packing away was also simple, except for getting it back in the bag. I had to roll and re-roll at least 3 times before I could get it tight enough to get it back into the bag.Minus the poles which were never going to fit. I sometimes wish tent manufacturers would consider this and make the bag slightly oversized.

Overall, very pleased with the tent.

Just bought this tent and camped once.Bought green coloured which matches other items we have.

We have larger tent for family outings but bought this one just for 2 of us and its great. Doesn't take long to pitch, (and I could do this one by myself!)

Feels snug with bath tub ground sheet, good size bedroom, and living space. We had 2 single beds with room in between. Had our small heater on at night when we were just sitting and boy is it warm.

Cant quite stand up in it but we knew this when we bought it, but still good height.

Stood up to the rain on first outing, so yes, love this new tent.

Manufacturer's Description

The new Vango Icarus Range is likely to be one of the most popular this season as it has a fantastically simple 'as-one' easy to pitch system and the simple 3-pole no hassle construction will make it the most ideal of weekend tents. The tent frame is constructed using Powerflex fiberglass poles, a Protex 2000 Polyester flysheet (2000mm hydrostatic head protection) and as is the norm these days, the groundsheet is fully sewn-in to keep out unwanted pests and draughts. The other key features of the tent include, as-one pitching, single 4-berth sleeping compartment (no divider), TBS tension band system for extra strengthening in adverse weather, (just like all the banks) 10,000mm HH internal groundsheet, side 'J' door with mesh double door, heavy duty continuous poles sleeves, front door mesh vent, reflective webbing, 'Crystal Clear' windows, breathable fabric inner tent, parallel zipped front door can be used as a sun canopy. Handled carry bag and repair kit included. Flame retardant throughout.
