Fantastic addition to the Icarus 600, we wouldn't be without it on longer trips. We use it as the camp kitchen area usually and have even housed 10 people in there after dinner drinks etc. On a wet weekend in the lake district. It does get a bit colder than the main tent due to the way it attaches but it is really easy to put up and we have never had an issue

A great addition for the Icarus 600.

After our first weekend away we decided to extend the tent for longer trips and we were glad we did. It comfortably gave us extra room for a 4 seat table and chairs along with our twin burner gas stove and kitchen.

It is relatively easy to put up and can be done by one person. It fits fairly well with only a slight gap at the sides which allows some of the heat to escape. In reality it works quite well as it allowed steam and smoke etc to escape when cooking. We also added a set of King poles, which then turns the door into a sun canopy.

My only criticism, and this also applies to the Icarus tent and any others with a sloping front and that is when you open the doors in the morning or during rain, you end up with pools of water on your groundsheet.

Brilliant canopy! we bought this last year to go with Our Icarus as we were going to cornwall for 9 nights with 2 small children and thought this may help loads.And it sure did! was easy to put up easy to fit onto existing tent too. Clips onto frame fine, can still use side door fine. Withstood a fair bit of wind in Cornwall too, did very well. Just a great idea if you want to turn a weekend tent into a long week tent! We also took it last year when we went with family and it makes a GREAT area for sitting with others and having dinner.As then little muddy feet etc don't get into main tent :) only bad thing is ground sheet isn't fitted so you do get bugs etc as neighbours and its VERY cold surprisingly to sit in at night compared to the main tent.Suppose this is because main tent has footprint under it too but made such a big difference that we never sat in it at night. But all in all a great idea, doubles the living area and the windows are nice and big on it, plenty of sunlight. Good addition to the Icarus.

Following a successful first camping trip with our Icarus 600 we bought this canopy to give us some additional space, which was massively overachieved as it effectively doubles the size of the tent! The extra space is great, particularly if you have children.

In terms of fit there is a small gap between the tent but not large enough to allow much rain through even when it's poring down (which it was on our second trip), so this isn't an issue and is even less so if you keep the tent nice and tight.

All in all a must have for all Icarus 600 owners!

A very useful addition to the Icarus - we did not know what to do with all the space! I haven't used a canopy before, so did not really know what to expect, but I was a little concerned with how the elasticated canopy edge pushed down on the tent in the middle area. If you are shorter than 5'6, you will struggle to toggle the door up - it is a little higher than the tent door.

I bought this as a fit for a HiGear Mojave 5. It is a perfect colour match and fits on it perfectly. The porch stood up well to a strong breeze (it was not very windy but more than a light breeze!) It provides a huge amount of extra living space.

It comes in a very compact bag and is easy to erect.

The one thing I would say is to make sure that the tent is taut so that the canopy does not pull the tent roof down too much and reduce the head height in the tent.

Actually bought this to use with a HiGear Mojave tent so it's probably even better still with the Vango Icarus. However, found it to be absolutely fab! Quality is great and it's enormous! It added about 120% to our living space it seemed! We didn't have any real wind and certainly no rain on our first outing with it, so can't comment on how it would stand up to either of those, but at 3000HH I would imagine it would be ok in the rain. Using it with our tent there were gaps where it joined onto the tent and I'd worry about rain pooling on the roof of the tent where the porch rests on the roof - not sure what it would be like on the Icarus but wouldn't think it would be too different? I am going to put some photos on so hopefully that will illustrate my points more clearly. Overall, a fantastic porch, well made and definitely worth the money!
