This is a brilliant bit of kit, easy to put up, super quick. Plenty of room, good height for even taller people. Inside there is plenty of room, the hanging attachments are great for lights etc. We brought the electric pump, and although not necessary, works well. Carpet is worth spending money on as well. The compartments are good size, not sure if they are darkened, but keep light out so you can sleep in high summer with a bit of light still. Ventilation is good, doors are a good size so you don’t snag your rucksack when tired after a days hard trekking! Also folds up well - the first tent I have ever owned that I can get back into its bag! The only thing I would say is the tent folded and in bag is heavy, although the bag is on wheels. I wouldn’t want to lift it on my own any significant height. The only other issue is the supplied manual pump is okay, but attachments are really flimsy, and the securing lugs break very easily if you are not careful.

We cannot fault the tent in terms of construction, features, space and useability once it is erected. Before you buy this tent or other similar size air tents please be aware of the size of the bag and it's weight. Unlike pole tents where the poles can be separated from the main tent for transport and carrying with an air tent it's all in one bag. We found the packed tent to be extremely heavy would not fit into our saloon car (Jaguar XF) without taking it out of it's carry bag. Unless you have a big car or van then this is very difficult to transport. If you have to park away from your pitch you will also have difficulties. Pumping up the 5 air tubes is also a hard cardio work out and do not believe claims that these tents can be put up in 15 mins. We have spent over 1000 nights under canvas and it still took us about an hour to erect and get all guy ropes out. As we said at start it is great once up and quicker to get down. God forbid it's wet and you have to get dry. That's a pain too. We have decided to go back to poles after just three trips away in it.

Thought I would write a review as when looking, none for this size.

Family of 3, looking for slightly smaller length to fit on more pitches and accommodate teenageers need for privacy. Only saw the 800xl as no one local had 500 on display, but having just been away, very pleased with size and space. Porch is not huge, but easily sat us, a drinks table and kitchen unit /gear. We experienced torrential rain, and very windy, gail blusters and past initial bedding in managed extremely well in the conditions. The beams hardly moved and the fabric is super water tight. Lots of windows and light, ventilation in abundance, really like the tent. Watched the you tube video of how to pack up, made soon much easier following this suggestion.
