6 Reviews of the Juno Tepee 500

We bought our Teepee to go to the Isle of Wight festival in 2012. It was a fantastic buy & stood up to torrential rain & 40 mph winds with no problems. Although calling it 5 berth is pushing it slightly it's been a brilliant, easy pitch/take down, no leaks tent. We've used it loads since & it's still all good. The door is a bit flappy but easily fixed with a bit of Velcro. The pretty blue bubbles pattern is easy to locate if you've had a few beers. If you can still get your hands on one of these they're a great buy 😀👍 xxx

Great tent, robust, watertight and easy to assembly / disassemble
I have used this in total seven times so far for motorbike events and game fairs, and only ever treated it with drunken contempt. It has stood up to all this, and I will be using it again for further events. I camp a lot and this has become my 'go to' tent.
I have only every used it as a single occupant, and would agree that it would only take another 2 people comfortably.
I would not really recommend it for a family holiday for any length of time, one person for a week will be okay.
In fact I liked this so much I bought the 800 version, but as yet have not used it, will review when I do.

We bought this for a Festival in the summer, accepting that it wouldn't be a lot of good and would probably end up in the bin at the end of it. BUT WRONG!
It's actually a very good tent for the money, and if you can still find one, and are in the market for a cheap, roomy and fairly light tent, I don't think you can go far wrong.
Its been used a few times now, and yes it has drawbacks, but we still intend to use it this year, got a couple of canoe trips and motorbike tours planed for it. A bit of velcro pretty much solves the draughty issues, and as for bugs, hey you're camping, what do you expect!

I love my teepee, for myself and my 5yr old son it is brilliant. I have never had any tearing issues, never got wet, and I have camped during torrential rain. My main criticism would be the style. Teepee doors slope which means opening the door fully in wet weather can allow rain into the middle of the tent. I resolved this by buying a Vango shelter to pitch over the tent, creating a porch area, works well, though it looks a bit odd. The single skin does get very damp with condensation, however so long nothing touched the sides it was fine, sometimes in the corners there was a small puddle of condensation on the floor, I just wiped it up with a flannel. I really recommend this tent, I have camped in it for up to 4 nights and always had a great time, plus it's simple to pitch and take back down. Probably more suited to festival, weekend camping, but is fine got longer trips too. By the way, technically 5 man, but really only good for a couple and maybe 2 children. For myself & 5yr old son I like having some spare space for him to play if the weather is naff. I'm doing longer trips now so I have up graded to a bell tent shaped teepee, as these already have a porch integral.

I use this tent mainly with my motorbike. I too found the door to be draughty. The dreaded midges also find their way in through the bottom of the door! I did use it once car camping but it was too much of a hassle trying to rig a tarp up to cook in.
The tent is fine in the rain and even although it is single skinned I didn't suffer from condensation drips.
There is a good amount of 'useable' space inside and plenty of room to stand up and change (necessary when trying to prise yourself out of sticky bike leathers on a hot day!)
The main drawback with it however is the way the corners (5 of them) are attached to the tent/sig. There are small poles approx 10 inches long which are connected to the structure with tension bands. If you are overly tight with the pegging straps then there is a tendency for those bands to pull away at the stitching. I have had to re-stitch 2 of them already (luckily my very bad stitching can't be seen under the fly!). Those same tiny poles also make it really awkward to pack the tent away neatly (a must when space on the bike is at a premium)
For this reason I am seeking an alternative tent for the bike. It is cheap and cheerful though so its worth at least 6 stars!

This tepee tent is perfect for motorbike rallies, as its easy to erect, with just one pole, and just peg it out with its guy ropes and ground pegs - took about 10 mins in total.
Its only single skinned though, and a bit of condensation build up on the inside dripped a bit, but it wasn't too bad.
Also the door bottom isn't closable, but it has a bathtub floor so the wet doesn't come in, but it can be a bit draughty, when really windy. Apart from that its alight weight tent, great for the back of the bike.Very spacious inside -room for a double airbed to one side of the pole and plenty of space for panniers and other luggage etc.
So Easy to erect and in a nice green design (circles), good height (you can stand up in it), good value
