5 Reviews of the Kairos 300

I can't understand why Vango stopped making this tent. As a cycle camper I had been looking for a lightish tent that I could stand up in after a days cycling, this tent is perfect. At 8kg it is light enough to carry and the two pole design make it easy to pitch. A bit cosy for three people perfect for one or two.

Top bikers tent at only 8kg. To stand up to put leathers on has been a dream for years. Would shelter the bike also if I could provide reinforcement to the groundsheet. Vango appear to have lost faith in this model and I don't know why: sturdy and roomy erected, small and lightweight packed. I know friends looking since last summer to buy one.Come on Vango take the hint!

I got my Kairos a while ago in a sale for an impressive £80, but until now have not had the chance to use it aside from a test pitch in the garden. I have finally been able to use it on a camping trip, and I am delighted with it.
It is simplicity itself to erect, taking me about 15 minutes on my own. I hate pitching, so one steel pole and one small flexible one is a dream for me. The tent itself is amazingly spacious. I like the door being on the side, which makes it much easier to open and close than one at the 'front', plus if it is wet you don't get dowsed with water every time you open it.
There is a large living area which is perfect for one and entirely adequate for two with a small table. We managed three by having one person put their chair in the bedroom with the door open. The windows on one side are nice, with blinds, but why on earth there aren't more windows I do not know. It is the one problem for me. There should most definitely be a large window on the front wall, and it would be nice to have one on the door as well. What do Vango have against windows?! Anyway, there is ample room in the living area for storage, getting dressed and hanging out if the weather is bad.
The bedroom area is smaller, and was perfect for just me. You could fit a couple who don't mind being close in there, but it is great for one. My Coleman airbed fitted well, with plenty of space for my stuff. Very cosy with the door closed.
Taking it down is just as simple as erecting it, though I have a terrible time trying to fit it back in the bag - but I have this problem with every tent! A super tent for one person.

As previous wanted a tent that I could stand up in as I sometimes camp on my own its ideal for solo or two people easy to pitch but first time was a struggle as it was very windy but once up remained sturdy despite strong winds.Only paid £75 so consider it a bargain.Ample room front portion and bedroom. Only down side the pegs are rubbish I bought hard ground pegs. Its a nice tent well made and would recommend it

Have been looking for a tent I could stand up in without having to buy and haul around a marquee. This did the job beautifully. It is rated a three person tent, but would be pretty cosy with three people in the sleeping area. However there is plenty of space in the rest of the tent to fit in another person if required.
I put it up in 30 mins without having seen this sort of tent and was relatively easy. It seemed to be pretty sturdy and weather proof although we hardly had storm conditions to test it out thoroughly. The main tent pegs are however pretty useless and are a devil to get out. I would suggest purchasing some alternatives.
All in all I would strongly recommend this tent, and I managed to buy it for less than £90!

Manufacturer's Description
Kairos means right or opportune moment, an undetermined period of time in which something special happens. This is certainly the case as you step inside a Kairos tent. The ingenious pole system makes this tent light, stable, extremely fast to pitch and offers great space in both the living and sleeping areas in relation to the footprint.
