5 Reviews of the Keswick 600

We bought this tent to replace our Vango Orchy 500. Having trusted the Vango name, and now with going from a couple to a family of 3 we decided we needed a bigger tent and 2 good sized bedroom pods. This tent didn't disappoint.

The bedroom pods are big enough to sleep an Intex double height queen sized airbed comfortably. The living area is larger than we had imagined from the pictures.

The front porch is deceivingly large. Enough so that we were able to put all our cooking equipment and a table and chairs in this area.

I would have given this 10/10 except for a few bad points. I would have liked the fly nets on the side door also. It would have been nice to have an ehu cable point on both sides. And it would have been much improved with double zips on all doors, especially the bedroom pods to allow them to be closed with the zips at both the top and bottom. Also, the colour attracts the flys and wasps and this meant they gathered under the canopy at the front.

Overall though, this tent was great value for money.

Hi having used the gelert tahoma 6 for the last few years we impulse bought the Keswick 600.Likes.Lots of room in the living area bedroom fitted our queen bed and the other half for storage quick to erect. The only bad point was the front door having to open each separately.Overall a good tent and I will recommend one to anyone who is thinking of buying one

I would agree with both reviews the design is great it is a shame that the quality control is not, sadly I have just had to return my second tent due to manufacturing defects.

My first tent had no pegging points down the left hand side so I returned it.

The second one had no pegging points down the left hand side. Glue marks on the bedroom doors. Missing tabs for the bedroom compartment. A missing clip on the outside to attach the flysheet to the poles and the porch was as in the other review cut wrongly so that the left hand side sagged. I accept that these problems can happen but sadly Winfields do not have another tent and Vango do not care less which has been extremely disappointing.

I brought a tent from Vango because of the wind stabilisation system was I misguided?

I now have no tent and no prospect of anyone doing anything about the situation!

What a great tent. Plenty of space and at a bargain price too compared to similar sized tents from Vango.

I especially like the covered awning section at the front which came in invaluable when it was raining which meant you could still cook and sit outside when it was pouring down. Even better is that you can still let fresh air into the main living space by having the front door open and you will not let any water in. Flies did tend to gather under the awning bit but as long as you keep the mesh door closed you shouldn't get any coming inside.

It seems a common issue with these types of tents that have a front vertical door for the door to be quite tight to zip when you first pitch up. But a bit of jiggling about of the poles eventually sorted it out, and it remained tight without fearing it would break the zip or the fabric.

Erecting the tent is real easy, but less could be said for getting the pegs in but it was really hard ground when we got there. It rained during the four days we were there and the rain running down the side of the tend helped to soften the ground up so getting the pegs out was much easier.

The living space is huge and even with the usual mess that you tend to accumulate it still retained a sense of spaciousness about it, which our previous Outwell covington didnt have.

Downsides are few and far between but I would have preferred another mesh door on the side entrance and one of the front panels to the left of the front door is a little slopey suggesting the measurements were a little inaccurate during manufacture. But thats purely an aesthetic issue.

But overall its a fab tent from Vango (exclusive to Winfields) and cant wait to use it again.

After testing this tent this weekend I can honestly say Wow what a great tent. Large living area with good head height, fantastic windows that let a lot of natural daylight in. Side entry door with flyscreen to stop those unwanted bugs from getting in. Great darker bedrooms to stop the early morning sunlight from waking you up with a divider to give you that bit more privacy.Front entry door with flyscreen and a fantastic porch area with windows which I found to be invaluable for those wet days.
